    Marker MRR bindings

I know not too many people like markers on here. But has anyone had much experience with the MRR din 8-18 binding? I may have a chance to get a hold of some and was wondering what you guys thought about them.

Ive had exerience with the 6-16 version of that binding and it just flatout sucks. I hate the design of the marker toepiece and the heelpiece certainly suffers from the toes moronic design. If you enjoy having your boot occasionaly stuck in your binding, even if you and clicked in properly, then markers are a fantastic binding for you(its amazing that this design can prerelease you aswell as lock you onto it very unpredictably). The way the toe kind of carries your boot out of the binding instead of using an afd pad of some sort is just a bad design. Weight wise they are fine, and durability wise they are very good for the most part, but they function like a piece of shit and that is all that really matters.

8-18 DIN Marker toes are better than the retail version, since the vertical release is locked out by a solid bar. Since a retail Marker toe releases upwards at approximately 10% of the force required for lateral release, this goes a long way to preventing the prereleases we all know and love.

That said, I'm not a real fan of the MRR heel. If I was getting this binding, I'd opt for the standard heel configuration.

The 6-16's have the bar, and that bar is just a safety hazard in anything but a race situation.

as far as Markers go these, and there din to 24 versions are the only ones that I would consider skiing on. There good, but are heavy compared to the look p18. If there cheap / free go for it, otherwise get the cheaper/ better looks or sollys.
