LP fetish yes, but that doesn’t sound like a problem. I don’t see any MFree108’s? Have you joined the fanboi club yet?

Have some enforcer 104’s which I’ve loved, but damn does an M Free 108 look fun for a tree ski. Too much overlap? My next ski up is a 2021 Anima.

If you're not loving those katanas my wife would likely trade her mfree 108 in 18x. Apparently she is stuck in her racer ways and despite wanting a "looser" ski still prefers to ski the fronts. Slarving ain't her jam.
She still loves her katana 183 og metal and Cham hm 107. Should have got her the m pro

Strange to hear. Watching people like Reine Barkered ski the m-free 108 doesn't really line up with the idea that you can't drive the tips of the mf108.

Pretty sure he skis them (-) from the recommended line. Curious where you mounted hers.

Hers were mounted on the line. I think as she gets more days on then she'll like them.

I'm going to try them first but will get back to you if I feel like I want a change.

    The Dynastar Thread

    Dynastar siblings pic…..

    180cm Proto @ +2cm (-7cm)

    179cm M-Free 99 @ +1cm (-6.5cm)

Glad the 179cm M-Free is not “shorter” as I had heard the 185cm size M-Free 99 measures below it’s stated length.

These two will get lots of use this season (5’7” , 165lbs). Also have Enforcer 104s and Rustler 11s that sit right in the middle of these.

Just picked up a pair of 186 Legend Pros in pretty good shape (thanks Bandit Man!) and debating where to mount them. The only holes so far are for a PX14 and a much bigger boot than mine. I've got Pivots for 'em. Tempted to reuse the toe holes, which would put me at about +1.2, or I could drill both ends and end up on the line. What says the collective?

I'm 6', 165lb. Generally a strong, directional skier (resort daily drivers are 186 Bodacious, 190 Bibby, and 191 OG Wrenegade for reference, all mounted on the line).

I was forced to go +0.5 cm on my pair due to conflicts. They ski great, but I can’t imagine being further forward than that.

I don’t think so. Similar rocker profiles, but very different construction and feel.

And you are right about the MFree108 being an amazing tree ski. It ranks us there with my ON3P Billy Goat. The MFree has become my “it’s getting skied out but there are pockets and stashes left” powder day ski. It skis all-mountain so well, but just comes alive in soft snow and tight quarters. So easy to slash and so loose.

These showed up, pretty solid flex, should be good.

+1 or 2 is what I’m thinking. Not sure yet

I think either is a good call, the mount is really far back. I didn't totally gel with mine for that reason.

I think the blister dudes tried them as much as +2 to +4 and didn’t think either was too much.

Did you go on the line?

FWIW, I went on the line and they do seem a bit back. I got used to them after a couple of days and now love them. I also got a pair of the MPro 90 this year for use at my more local area. I mounted those on the line as well so I should be good to go after adjusting to the 99's. But yeah, going up +2 probably wouldn't hurt.

I was on the line and thought it was too far back. But I also have mostly been skiing the mfree108 the last couple years and have gotten used to a more progressive mount, so YMMV.

I'll probably be the opposite with the mf108 and the pro99 being an old fuck that's not used to progressive mounts.

Since it was commented in the M102 thread - yes, MF108s are loose as a goose and incredible fun in soft snow. They are nimble as heck and are about the easiest / most forgiving 108mm ski for soft snow I have been on. And yes, especially the tails rail groomers as well.

Just keep in mind that the shovels of 182s are quite a bit softer than BGs though, so they do not have the same umph in variable - something the 192s seem to be nearer to having due to their stiffer flex pattern.

Hopefully the 182s are given slightly stiffer shovels/front skis for 2023 - that would make them plain rediculous. As they are they are still one of the best 108ish skis to be released in a good while if you want something loose that can still ski with aplomb. Not that this thread needs more MF108 hype, but it is well deserved - they are great skis.

And for reference, I was on the line with pivots on mine.

I'm curious, with all the love for the Mfree108, why isn't there any mention of the Mfree99s? I find that ~100mm underfoot is the perfect size for most of my resort days since we don't get a ton of new snow. Are the 99s that different of a ski, or are they similar but the collective just prefers the wider width of the 108s? In my case, I would prefer to trade groomer performance for float, since I have dedicated powder skis that I already love.

The 99 is new this year and few people have actually skied them.

For your use case you might be on the right track, but I have no issue with the 108 on edge-able snow.
