What is your preferred mount point for CHAM 2.0 189 (for dynafiddles/all tour)? I see the recommendation by the OP on page one of -1, is anyone at -2 & really happy with it? I'm going with -1 one unless there's a strong recommendation to be -2.
Like I told my last wife, I never drive faster than I can see, besides it's all in the reflexes.
I didn’t like them at -2

Sorry man, been wanting a pair since trying them out at BBI Alpy.
Anyone in this thread have experience mounting the Protos +1-2ish cm from recommended? I can drill one less set of holes if I end up around +1-1.5. Blister seems to think I’m good at that spot.
If I bought them new I would still be considering mounting them at +1. I’m 5’7’’ 195. Hoping I don’t lose much in the way of float / crud busting while gaining an increase in balance in the air, pop off the tail and more pivot/smear. This will be the only ski I have above 110uf with any camber.

I definitely prefer that ski at -1 but I set up kopi on a pair at -1 and he had trouble engaging the tip so maybe try them on the line if you think that could be an issue.
Thanks guys. I’m going with the line, and I can move them ahead with one more mount if I want to. I want to preserve float, this is gonna be my travel pow ski.
All this spring corn lately has me daydreaming about those Protos. In midseason at BBI it was the furthest thing from my mind, but I bet they kill on weird semi-shadowed refreeze.
Not sure if I mentioned this at the time - the thing I found most surprising about that ski was the super-predictable tail release when skiing really mellow, slow, mid-radius turns. Felt like dragging a stout blade across soft leather, deeply satisfying. Maybe that's something all heavily-built skis with tail rocker do (I've skied light ones before,) but I've been daydreaming about that feeling in the runouts lately after my legs are gassed. I've skied the x106 literally every day this season, and they're by far the best skis I've owned - I'll write a review sometime soon - but they're a little more punishing this time of year.
Realistically, at 150lbs for my top weight, I don't think I'm a big enough guy to ski the Proto (or really ahard enough skier to need it,) but damn, I'm starting to get why everyone on this board fetishizes these huge fuckin' skis. The Proto in corn instinctively seems like it could be the most chill time ever if that's what you wanted out of it, curious if that's true.
There’s a 180 proto available next season. I’ve heard they’re a blast, even for the bigger skiers. I bet that would be the one for you.
And?
so what ski was Reine really skiing today during the FWT finale? Surely not a 105mm Legend?
It is, go back a couple pages in the thread
