Artie, I got one of those cheeeeeep tickets out of Denver. Wahoo!

Yes, if any of you have an extra bed, I would love to have some of it. I'll be in Lenas Aug 29 or 30 to Sep 10, unless it's snowing, then I'll stay longer. I don't leave BA until the 22. I am not above sleeping on a floor and cooking for rent, if I can't pay for a bed.

I pissed of friends, family, GF, and job, so I could go to Lenas, and I'm quite proud of myself.
Mr. Spiff, I´ve said it before and I´ll say it again, you are the man. I´m sure some folks will step up and help a brother out. Also, you might want to call the southamericaski.com Las Lenas number, however, Mark seems to be asleep at the wheel in Lenas, so who knows.

Once I find a decent computer and some time, I´ll get some Portillo pictures up. Just to tease you, we got four feet of snow last week. Haha!

can we get a ruling on boots? Foggy called to ask last night and I didn't know what to tell him

Will security let you carry them on?
    Is this necessary?
What if you're bringing two pairs?
Or do you just go with a wing and a prayer that they'll make it with the rest of your precious cargo?

I managed to tear my Dakine double bag within 10 days of travel through SA - nothing a little duct tape couldn't fix, but that bag doesn't like dirt roads

    damn you all to hell

I just saw a 750 fare go by to BA, I nearly choked on my excitement. I've basically written off any prospect of coming...but there's still a small part of me wishing I could be there. I have no way to take time off, and shouldn't be spending even the 1500 it would take to do a couple weeks knowing that I may be job-less at the start of next year...

    And yet...

    And yet...

Sigh. Take pics at least, would ya???

We fly out of SLC to Lax via delta 9/1, then LAN leaving around 2.
Looks like we're going to be a big happy mess by the time we board for Mdz with you all.

So on the LAX flight there's Girlski, Hop, Tresckow, and Kristin. Fockers! Isn't anybody on the DFW flight?

Guess I'll see you guys in Santiago the next morning for the LAN flight to Mendoza.

This is gonna be a total maggotfest! That flight to MDZ will be a pretty good time I recon, that is if I can remember anything from the flights from LA and beyond.
So I just found out that one of my local Argentine homeys is not going to be in LL when I get there, so I may be a bit homeless unless I can get in touch with homey #2.

I don't need it (yet), but consider this a test of the waters for anyone that has any floorspace that they might want to rent out....

Edit: Looks like T. and K. might be on the same flight as GS and me departing from LA. Oh brother... chaperones? or partners in crime?

Have had no probs bringing them on carry on luggage. As well as helmet, transreciever and a outfit.
That way,you are ready to ski even if (when) they loose your luggage.

But on the other hand, you are comming from Fortress America, so i wouldnt be suprised if your flight would be "re-routed" via guantamo.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

I NEVER, NEVER, evar fly to skiing without boots in hand. never had a problem with it either. Helmet also comes with in the cabin, and backpack contains the bare minimum to ski if nothing else makes it - pants, jacket shell, socks, gloves, goggles.

However, I've always been afraid to bring the peep in-cabin; it's electronics in a little box, it beeps...I dunno, it's a bit harder to explain what it is to someone who has no clue... Too expensive to leave at the airport if it's too late to go back to your checked bags, and bad news if you need it for doing some touring. Sounds like it's maybe okay after all, but I've never tried it - my strategy has been to leave b/c stuff checked. Way I figure it, you can borrow sweaters and clothes to go under the minimal shells/gear you bring in-cabin for lift served, but if you're headed b/c, you want your shit together top to bottom, and that requires enough stuff (knife, compass, probe, etc) that you're screwed if you don't have your checked luggage anyway.

Looks like a PNW vs UT drinkin' showdown on the LAX-SCL flight

I'd put my $ on Tresckow & Kristen, but then again- we all know Girlski can put away a bottle of cinnamon whiskey
When Tyrone, LPH, and I see you fockers in Santiago for the connector-we'll see who's still standing! (I won't need to look at the monitor to find out what gate to go to, I'll just listen for the loud boisterous smack talking )

Hop- note: Girlski, telekyler and I are tentatively homeless for the week of 10Sep-17Sep - I'm working on some details now if you wanna get in on that.
and worst case scenario- the floor ain't huge, but will be an option for ya if you need it.

I'm still in the market for somewhere warm and dry to spend the night between runs, if any of you can point me in the right direction. I'm bringing my sleeping bag and air mattress, and am prepared to use them. I travel light, and I need some skiing partners.
