I once had a thick full length robe with a hood on it. It was awesome. Just like Obi Wan Kanobi's actually. I miss it.

If it were me, KQ, unless you've gotten a good rec for a specific recent model, I wouldn't trust online. Sucks ordering what LOOKS like a nice plush bathrobe, only to have it be some miserable lightweight excuse of a thing.

If there is a Four Seasons hotel nearby (I think you're Seattle?...so the downtown Four Seasons is a good bet...I've stayed there a lot), go to the hotel store. They sometimes sell the very same heavy, ultra plush terry cloth robes that they use upstairs in their spa...the thing is the cat's meow of luxury...I've got one that's lasted for years! It might cost a bit more than the $80 or $90 that the online ones cost...I think I paid $139 or $149? for mine...but worth it.

Lacking that, Nordstrom's has a very similarly weighted one in their actual stores. I'm sure Land's End does too. Don't know about Banana Republic.

Another thing....I can't agree more with Oftpiste: whatever you end up buying, buy nice and long. I'm 6'3 also...and short silly bathrobes that show the knees because they're too short are HORRIBLE.....men's knees simply aren't that good looking!

^^Hotel bathrobes are notoriously short. I have a collection, including four seasons.
