Shiba Inu... what's the general behavior of those dogs? I've only met one, funny character. At a trailhead parking lot a family had one. Everyone getting ready to skin up the mtn. Dog was running around visiting people. I started up, dog came with me. Seems he was ready to go with whoever is going now, couldn't wait for his family. At the ridge, stopping to gear for the descent, another group passed by and dog went with them. Saw the dog family near the end of the day, no dog. They said he'll come back with the last skiers.
In Squamish, there used to be a dog that would hang out with climbers all day. Funny.

I general they are not good off leash, very intelligent, super loyal to 1 person (watch The movie Hatchi) but have a mind of their own and kind of do what they want.

I am lucky to have one that is pretty anti-Shiba.

They are an ancient breed, smaller version of the Akita but same family. If you've ever met an Akita you'd get it.

If you google you can read more.

    That's good.
Inviting people for Thanksgiving who you know don't have close family around is good too.

Clean CT scans! I just got my second post-op and no sign of recurrence. Well-timed, since it makes for an awesome Thanksgiving compared with the last one.

There's a pic on our coffee table of all the family gathered last year and every single smile looks forced. Cancer was the elephant in the room. Another year another elephant, but 6 months cancer-free is a pretty good thing.
