Listening to my daughter read, spelling out the words she doesn’t know. Her falling asleep on my arm, gently snoring. That moment my son switches from bravado to sweet, or finds a new thing he loves. This week he is gushing about black holes. My wife and I talking about the hot tub, going over every detail. A glass of wine on the porch during the last few days of fall when the air and leaves both get crisp and remind me it’s time to find the wax iron in anticipation of soft turns.

Seano, my daughter went out trick or treating up through her senior year in HS. It is her favorite holiday. She dressed up for it off at college and reported that UNB has some great pumpkin sacrifice tradition involving the tossing of pumpkins out of the dorm windows or some
such. A few of her friends that are seniors this year showed up at my door looking like zombies. However her 14 yo brother is too cool for school, didn't go this year and only half heartedly went last year. Their 12 yo brother was all into it and went with the 14 yo neighbors. So go figure.

    Donkeys!

    From Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue:

This sweet lady wished for some sunshine and donkey love. Today she got both. To spend a few splendid moments with this beautiful lady (who has only a brief time left here in our world ) and to share a bit of it surrounded by the love and compassion of donkeys was beyond touching.
