    RAAM

While on my way to southeast Utah from Durango today I passed alot of the RAAM riders. The RAAM seemed to get alot more coverage in the late 80s and early 90s, but it is still a pretty incredible event. When I was in high school I began to bike race because I would see the coverage of Greg Lemond in the TdF as well as the coverage of the RAAM.

It was pretty amazing seeing guys riding their bikes in Colorado today and knowing that the finish line for their ride was in Atlantic City, NJ! I laid on the horn for all of them. I could not imagine being on my bike for 3000 miles straight with minimal sleep.

Unfortunately one of the 50+ racers was killed outside of Trinidad today when he collapsed and swerved into a truck.
