temps in mid-20's this morning. pre-storm winds around 20mph on the ridges. rode patsy marley for first time in a few years in an attempt to find some soft turns. surprisingly decent.

nothing ventured, nothing gained. the shitshow appears to be trending to sunday, but even the 8 yr old he heard the forecast and said he was setting his alarm for 5:45 so we can leave at 6:25. maybe we make it, maybe we don't, but think of the fun if we do...

    Awesome.

Bummed we're going to miss this storm. But, it's my neice's 5th birthday (the one with cancer) and her birthday request was for us to come to St. George with them. Can't say no to that. Get some, kids.

Snowed all day at Alta. Half a foot, no one there. Made it just soft enough for big smiles, all around. Heading over to Deer Valley, now.

Is that the kinda stuff you tell your wife? Snowed 2" the way we measure 'round here. It did ski like more than that, eh?

He skis Killington where blue ice is called "frozen granular" and every inch of snow is counted as 2. Give him a break. 😀

Wish I’d been able to chat the other night, I would’ve loved to hear a run down of your Europe trip. Next season!

Sunday AM will be the busiest the road will be. If you have 4wd and dont mind the risk driving before control work is done, i'd try to beat a closure or head to a resort further north. I'd imagine sunday to be of epic shitshow proportions.

If it stays open overnight, it’ll close at 6am.

Ok thanks for the heads up. This information is much appreciated. I'm going to wake up early and be at the entrance of the canyon by 5:45. If its closed, its closed. What happens then? You pull to the side of the road and wait for it to open? Is there any kind of heads up on this road closure situation or is it just a crapshoot when you get there?

Wish I could head up the sat night but doesn't seem like there's any cheap places to crash near Brighton or Solitude. Must be pretty sick to wake up to a road closure already at the mountain..
