Getting up LCC later on Friday could be problematic. Forecast is "heavy snow late Friday into Friday night", QPF is for 2" of moisture which could easily be 30+". If you make it you could be golden with potential for a country club day,

My flight lands 7:30pm bringing my fattest skis and hoping for a window into the promise land
Thanks for the heads up. Leaving JFK is also a potential problem with high winds and a lot of rain.

Will i be able to ski off-piste, or will it pretty much be only groomers and main run type skiing? As of now. I know things can change quickly, especially with big spring/late winter storms.

im okay with relatively low tide and beating the hell out of my skis, as long as stuff is open. Its not gonna cost much (i get buddy pass tickets on Delta and lodging is free), but id rather stick around WA and use my Vail days up at whistler if the snowpack is too low at PC/Canyons to really have fun on.
    Is this a serious question???

I would choose whistler over PC any day of the week.... especially this year

Agreed. Could not agree more especially that i am finally starting to learn the layout of whistler and some favorite lines/zones/routes.

BUT, my GF is super stoked to show me around PC because she is from there and she has visited my hometown and parents a couple of times now, but ive never been to hers. I have 3 days left of the EDGE card so i might just convince her to use a single day at PC, and save the other two for another weekend at whistler. Im kinda locked in to going, but how many days spent skiing is negotiable, and id like to know the unfiltered version of the conditions out there right now.

How bad is it at PC right now? I can have fun nearly anywhere, but Blue, crowded groomers scare the shit out of me and im worried that is what i will mostly be skiing at PC Canyons.

I think I'd rather pay to ski Deer Valley than ski for free at Park City.

PC is fine. Essentially everything is open. Coverage is decent now, and there’s actually less to hit there than at most other places like Alta or Snowbasin. You’ll have fun, don’t worry about it.

This is a little sunny, but it's not wrong. The lower-elevation tree shots won't be in, but McConkeys/Jupiter/9990/banging your girlfriend ought to be enough to keep you entertained. Park laps, too. It's a big hill with groomers overcrowded with gomers in the choke points. Just pick some of the steeper shit and lap it for a bit before moving to a different zone. Avoid getting roped into skiing laterally on the gaper highways, knock back a few drinks in old town, and get laid. It might be the shittiest deal of the central Wasatch resorts, but your ticket is paid for and it's perfectly good skiing.

Yeah man. It’s a cheap trip, nice pad, fun town, and you might get lucky with a storm and/or your lady.
I could tell you where all the good bike riding is, but I’ve never actually skied PC. D’oh

If you are okay with sidecountry and about a 15 minute bootpack, hike up from the top of 9990. Thru the gate and left to dutches or right to squaretop, obviously avy condition dependent but as good as anywhere in the wasatch.

I think PC is skiing pretty well right now. A little thin but good. It’s not that big a deal to hop to hop to the PC side, although the one ride on silverload will suck balls from a crowd perspective.

And reasonable storm starting Friday morning is going to help a ton.

I might opt for Sunday this week. I think Saturday is going to be an utter shitshow, and potentially mid day closure (if storm produces as expected). Zero desire to deal with it all again like last Sunday.

pretty out there. s facing damp by 11:30, w facing still skiing nice. everything solar will probably get a crust though which will be interesting with this storm.
The little shot of 3-6 inches or whatever daytime tomorrow should help keep turns with the big storm OFF the crust at least.
