This is one of my favorite sections of Snowbird. Great finish to a top to bottom pow run. I'd been out of town for a few days, saw it was open, and had to ride it. Cirque Traverse is hairy. But it's damn nice to have some terrain open finally, glad they opened stuff up
Is that Mad river Glen? It sure looks like low tide Vermont skiing.

Skied a few laps on the park city white ribbon this morning. Started lap one with a pre dawn run down pay day (neither of us packed headlamps mind you)... Holy shit, I can't believe a run lined with snowmaking isn't open yet and didn't appear to be that close. I guess the Sparks flying off our skis should have been warning signs as we headed down the cat track. What a sad state of affairs this winter and those lucky bastards back east don't even want that snow or cold.... Oh well, the cord on treasure hollow and home run was fun for a few laps I guess. Super popular, home run was buzzing with uphillers all morning

hahaha that's why I avoid b-right-on altogether. they went from most friendly uphill ski area to least friendly real qucik.

the PCMR cat driver gave me a thumbs up as I stayed behind his cat like a wakesurfer behind a boat on the way down yesterday morning.

Have SW flight booked 2 weeks out. Shit been blowing through my life and I could use a gettaway, but also probably needed on homefront. No planning other than buying ticket in August which is very unlike me.

Like SLC because you can drive N for snow or S to the canyons to get lost-backpacking in Southern Utah in Winter is great-no one is around, no fighting for permits. Still things at home would have me delay a trip for backpacking. Snow looks grim. Need to check on cancellation policy of SW flight.

How are you guys feeling about the end of the month?

The long range is looking promising for the end of the month. Inbounds still has no base depth and anything with snow on it in the bc will be rotten garbage beneath the new snow, so I would keep your expectations in check. But if the forecast holds, we may get enough snow to open the resorts most of the way and/or ski off piste in a quasi-safe manner.

It's going to literally be insane when it actually snows. If and when we get a pow day I will be trying to beat any road closure or just going up way way early. The LCC shitshow will be of proportions never seen before is my guess.

Don't know if I have low expectations or if it was really good, but the turns off collins this morning were super super fun, found some untracked un-rocky turns. Much joy. Also jumped off some stuff. Also joy. Soft snow is better than hard snow and rocks.

Left at 12:30, was getting warm. The first time it snows over 12 inches on a weekend is going to be insane.

The traffic is gonna be ridiculous on a bluebird day, and if it is a stormy morning, there will be car wrecks and slide offs for sure.

Going up canyon yesterday I witnessed a real close one. Right at the start of the two lane passing zone, a late 90's Ford F-150 passed in a right hand corner and lost the rear end. He powerslid with his left rear wheel in the other lane for about 40 yards and nearly clipped a Land Cruiser or Sequoia coming down.

Was impressed with his skillful save and shaking my head at his poor decision making. Hope it wasn't one of you bone heads.

On Saturday there was a car upside down in the creek. Wetting roads without any slick factor. Couple of bong rips and texting is all I could figure

Couldn't agree more, my mojo was restored this morning by creamy turns down lone pine on the first lap. Went for a short walk later in the day and got to make a few more nice turns. Life is good

Nah, he did, I followed him up and watched him pull onto the bypass road like 5 min later. Didn't realize someone else went into the woods though. Doesn't surprise me.

This one was scary because he almost took someone else out. The tree winch job sounds like it was a 1 car issue.

Upside down in the creek? That had to have been real low down in the canyon.

There was some spooky black ice from frozen rain Saturday. I saw two flipped cars and one other accident right in front of me, as I fishtailing in RWD trying to go to 4WD. That was on I84 though on the way to Snowbasin, low down. BTW, Anyone know the name of the canyon before Mountain Green?
