My son's friend will be heading out to the University of Utah in SLC. I'd like to get him a pass or passes for next season as a graduation gift.

Can anyone point me towards the best, or most popular student option for single, or multi SLC resort student skiers?

    Thanks

What kind of skiing does he prefer? I'm at Westminster (just down the road from the U) and the most common are AltaBird or Brighton. If he's a park skier go Brighton, if not I'd go Alta or Snowbird. I have an Alta pass, some friends at the Bird but I can't imagine being there. Fun place but too many families and tourists. Super crowded and hard to charge the same way I like to at Alta. Send him to Alta.

He's not much of a park skier these days, but what's the cheapest/value option...lol. Pm me, so we don't clutter this thread up.

Pm Rontele, he's still in marketing at Snowbird and can probably scrounge up some student passes.

Well they sell student passes, but I think Rontele can, and usually does, hook up mags. I'd pm him for sure.

Substitute “straight line blue squares” for “charge” and it all comes together nicely.

Alta was a disappointment today. Too much water weight. Everything was 30min to an hour delay. They we're loading wildcat but then closed due to a slide in the ho. My last lift ride they were running a rope the entire length of Collins face. They wanted nobody having a chance to get over into wildcat area. No high t, no low t, no saddle, no main St, very limited. Snow skied pretty well where you could find untracked low angle. Ball bearing like. All that water fucked shit up. I think heard garbage chute went big...possibly to dirt. Oh well can't win em all

Did you hear anything about wildcat? I mean it surely must've been some sort of skier triggered slide they did tons of control work over there.

Powder Mountain rode well with 9 or so inches of PNW-style powder. Really not that bad, got a bit sticky towards the end of the day. Paradise, Mary's and all cat operations did not run today, tomorrow should be pretty sweet!

Skiing was much better than I expected today at Brighton. The trees were especially fun.

Interesting. I heard Alta described as "upside down cream cheese over ice."

Well guys I will be in skiing a week today seems bluebird piste cruising but -

Sent a Pm Rontele but unfortunately no reply. Still got a few days of hope.

I take my skies from Scotland but my dad doesn't bother.

Still looking to get 9 days hire for my dad and obviously at the best price. Will check powder house, going to get the spring pass for Snowbird so does that include discount on skis?

"the deal" is to buy next year's pass now, ski the rest of this year, and next too.
