@wyeaster - we’re season pass holders too, but our friend was getting her Spring Pass yesterday which is why we were cool just going home. I guess I’ve joined the “weird shoulder club”! I’m with you on the ski check guy...

@mattig - Solidarity! I’m likely doing the surgery later this summer. It bothers me enough, and the stability isn’t getting any better, so doc said if it’s still like that after 6-months, do surgery. I’m going to Hawaii in May and surgery now means no surfing, and that’s just not acceptable.

As for the Amazon brace, it said AC in the description and it does “somewhat” alleviate the stability issue, it’s not a cure by any means. It’s sorta like a knee brace, helps psychologically more than practically (in my experience anyway, 2 knee surgeries over the years).

dang, from skiing? or rather, being stopped from skiing in an unconventional and sudden manner?

oops. ac joint. now i get it.

right after i almost caught the groom edge on magic mile at 40+mph i remembered that i have already been injured this season and can't afford another one.

add to things that annoy me, i realize it has been discussed elsewhere but the inbounds uphill horde was at full capacity, including pulling some sleds with what appeared to be camping gear, going right up the middle of one of the busiest runs. i would say where but i have suddenly lost that fact.

i would not be keen on inbounds uphill travel at all but definitely not going straight up the middle with multiple sleds on a busy saturday. it didn't seem that they were doing their best to protect themselves or others.

Glorious day started 2 hours later than usual. I couldn’t bring myself to set the alarm for the usual time what with the whole Spring Forward business (& a party last night)

HRM lot was only half full at 10a when we arrived

^^^ Memorial Bowl didn’t ski as well as Silver, but that’s where I took a photo. As you can see, not too crowded.

Was up at Meadows yesterday, and what a glorious day it was. Beautiful, brisk air, and pretty much empty, even though main lot was full. Maybe the time change slowed the crowd from coming up? And yes, Silver was where it was at. Lapped that a few times. Very good stuff.

Btw, my friend had that AC should thing, took awhile for it to finally go away. Best o' luck on that one.

Firm conditions in the am at bachelor. Light winds transporting snow into grottos for caulky turns. Groomers were wicked carving and......time for a beer. Cheers worker bees.

Recommendations on a good place to get a boot punched? Preferably Mt. Hood area since I don't like to go to Portland.

Call Skibowl and see if they can do a quick punch on a boot in their shop ? If it's a simple punch they should be able to handle it.

I have always had good luck with Bob Olsen in Parkdale.

I have taken multiple pairs of boots to Bob and have no complaints. He should still be in Pdale for the next month or two before he moves his shop to Govy for the summer. Easiest to make an appointment by calling his cell, instead of just dropping by his shop - mthoodarc.com

I was in the place in Parkdale the other day. He has a signed AJ Kitt autographed bib, signed "to the best boot guy in the business" or something like that.
