    Agreed.
West to East has chunk and flow.
East to West seems like all the chunk minus the flow.

Meeting friends in Fruita November 15-19th. They want to reserve a site at Highline State Park in case the 18 rd campsites are all full. Crazy Right?

I was also blown away by what the old dispersed sites have turned into last time I was there. Still, I can't picture 18 rd camping being more than 1/4 occupied that time of year.

Should we chance finding a site on 18 rd? Or is Highline OK? What does the collective have to say?

Getting there on a Wednesday shouldn’t be a problem at 18rd this time of year, but it’s been 3ish years since I’ve been down there

At that point, I'd try to get a site at the paid 18 road campground. There are sites that open up 4 days out for last minute reservations.

I would think you'd be okay with finding a dispersed site for the weekend on a Wednesday though.

Highline Lake is pretty nice but I'd think you'd have no problem at 18 Road. That said, I too would be at the La Quinta.

My buddy booked us a site in the D-section on 18 Road last Tuesday for this past Saturday night. He said it wasn't that hard to get a spot, though he we on the website early when the 4-day-lead booking opened. He said the mid-week dates were mostly empty when he looked for reservations so I think you'll be good for your dates and days of the week.
