Both the toe piece and heelpiece install from the centerline side of each binding piece's mounting plate, right? I'm wondering if anyone has ever shortened the template (moved the toe and heel plate closer to centerline) to increase the range of adjustability relative to their own boot sole length? I know it would screw up the BSL numbers indicated on the bindings but you could still use the forward pressure indicator to get it right.
I think the Warden 13 Demo has a range from 262 - 382mm at default, which I believe means that a boot sole of 322 would have +/- 30 mm of boot center adjustability.

I have a 25.5 boot / 294mm BSL. I think if I chop a total of 28mm off the template - bring the toe holes from 114 to 100 mm to center and the heels from 117 to 103mm, it would give a BSL range of 234 - 354mm, allowing me to move my boot center +/- 30mm relative to the mount line.
I guess my first concern is if I shorten the template too much, I may not be able to physically clear the heel and brake assembly onto the plate if the plates are too close together. What else am I missing?<

Probably deserves a 2x4 test mount first, but if anyone can save me the trouble of wasting my time, I appreciate it

And in case anyone is asking why this matters, it's because I am mounting up vintage Hellbent 132s and I have no idea where the heck they will ski best for me! If I mount them at -3cm with 30mm of range then I'll be able to go from true center to -6. Plus I want to get my friends a chance to try to get some silly turns on such silly fun skis.

Salomon Warden 13 MNC *DEMO* paper template?

I have mounted demos “off template” before to allow for the most mount point adjustment for a given BSL. That wasn’t on Warden demos but I don’t see why you couldn’t; agree with the 2x4 mount first.

I specifically put warden demos on my V1 Pontoons just to make them easy to share!
