    Volkl Shiro Shipping Issue

After 4 seasons of foundering around in powder, I discovered the 193 cm Volkl Shiro and powder because a dream. Fast forward a few months, and I stupidly (and possibly under the influence of a few brewskis) sold my pair of 193 cm Volkl Shiros to a buddy because I thought it would be a good idea to only have my 203cm Shiros for powder days. Two storms later I was kicking myself because at the end of the day, 203cm skis still don't really like tight trees.

This began my search for a new pair of undrilled Volkl Shiros. After digging through the endless results that Google spits out at us these day, I found 2 pairs of undrilled Shiros, for sale. One pair is in a shop in France and one in Australia. I inquired at both shops about shipping to the USA and both said no. After digging further I found that the shop in Australia does claim to ship internationally, so I tried again, and again they said they don't ship to the USA. Temporarily I gave up, but the skis kept bothering me in the back of my head.

Fast forward again a few months and I end up in Singapore for work. It's 95 out, 100% humidity and I'm thinking of skiing, so I try the shop in Australia again. My thought process was, I'm 6000 miles closer, they might just not want to ship to the USA, but maybe they will ship to Asia. I quickly got a response this time only to this time be told they don't ship internationally.

Back to work in miserable conditions I go, and I start thinking of which friends might be making a trip to Australia or who might have friends who are down there for the winter. A friend of a friend comes back and says he would gladly bring the skis back for me, so I try a third time to buy the skis, this time using a USA billing address and an Australian New South Whales shipping address, only to be told this is a suspicious purchase. Wtf? Really?

My question to my fellow mags is, does have any advice on what I can do to get these skis? Does anyone live in Australia, or have any connections that can help me get these skis? They are 2015 193cm Volkl Shiros at Rhythm Snowsports.

And no Bobby, the answer isn't switch to Praxis RX...

If this is in the wrong topic, oops?

Also, I understand that shipping a pair of skis from Australia to the USA won't be cheap, like $200 at least. I understand and am willing to pay the shipping.

Ski Bartlett in the UK have a set of 193's for a silly cheap price, pretty sure they ship overseas.

I would have got a pair but I needed to replace my mid fats so I picked up some Scott Punisher 110's in their sale for an insane price. That and these days I very rarely see fresh tracks living in Scotland.

It is an amazing deal. I emailed the shop and hope to hear back about shipping to the US. Thanks for the heads up. If the deals as good as it appears, and they have a few, I might have them send me two pairs.

Sorry about the lack of fresh tracks. One day

You cut off ..."when Keith makes a 194 RX."

I might check out the Q's. Seems like what I want in the RX, but better (in a very Jermey Clarkson voice).
