Excellent TR. Sucks that the skiing/weather/logistics were less than ideal, but I dig the adventure aspect. Many thanks for sharing.

I actually signed up to this forum because I wanted to learn from trip reports and this one did not disappoint. Excellent writing style, man. I like that you really immerse us in the highs and lows of the experience. I'm just starting out so I'm a long way from Kyrgyzstan but your writing style made me A.) wish for an experience like this, B.) hope to never experience anything like this and C.) momentarily feel like I had experienced it. The cold seemed oppressive at points though. I can handle desert hikes because you hit that point of heat where you just feel so exhausted it's almost like falling asleep. I feel like extreme cold is the opposite. Glad you got a majestic reward for your endurance. Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's definitely eye opening for a newbie like me!
