My 100% completely normal 194 Freerides show up today. I like the Super Freerides at -1 from suggested. Any reason to mount the normal Freerides anywhere other then -1 from suggested?

Dude! been thinking the same thing since the +/- 10 came on to the scene!! MVP would be a sick +10 I think! 2 problems though, I own (and thoroughly adore) almost every 115-128 Praxis ski, think I'm only missing the RX and PB's. If I was being honest with myself the next in line for me would certainly be a stock width MVP for low tide / park conditions and then the one ski that truely bothers me that I don't have, the RX. That said, if I didn't have those sticks and was looking for a certain type of more playful pow ski that could land some shit switch in the soft, be burly enough to really tear up mixed conditions and still ski well enough on hard pack to be a west coast softer snow dailyish, that ski sounds titties!! Bet it'd be baller in the bc as well, a serious Enduro contender for light heavyweight champ of soft snow anywhere, anytime for the jibbier type of skier me thinks! Pretty sure that's exactly why ON3P has a 116 Kartel, and with the custom options Praxis offers... Boom Bom!

This is becoming more and more relevant to me - not having to second guess what I'm loading into the car for the day. Did you see Bimboe's comment to Geo (Down Skis) in the FWT thread? One pair is fine ... that, from a guy who won two events.

I should take that advice more seriously

Impulse buy, or excellent decision?!? Thanks Praxis custom sale. From all accounts this ski is super versatile, and heralded as a one ski quiver for the West Coast. Steep Mammoth windbuff is "quivering" in its boots right now (you're god damn right that pun was intended).

189 heavy core Rx would make awesome Mammoth daily drivers. They can handle anything.

Geeking out actually became a great education for me so it’s all good and I’ve learned a ton.

I am/was on this b/c of our trip, she wants to go more than I do (maybe) so I figure why not have a killer pow specific tool that all her own?

The REAL motive is that if a wife ski shows up when my ski comes I will on hear “another ski, really?”....then she’ll say “oh cool the mtn sunrise graphic I almost got on my other praxis” (she went scuba on the BC)....tmy ski won’t matter at that point bc she’ll be pumped on hers.

    It’s all about angling.....and I’m a solid fisherman

Figured I’d upload some pow shots of my wife on her BC’s.....I’m a proud husband.....

So left for my annual end of season Bach trip and the snow gods have blessed me... 6" of blower over night and another 6 to 10" forecasted today... I grabbed my Qs for this trip and felt like I was cheating on my beloved GPOs... So stoked to ski these in killer conditions...

No new Praxis for me this year but have been digging all the nerding out...!

Jmars - great pics and great catch... My wife loves to ski, but is def more of a good weather skier... She jacked her knee yesterday when the storm was rolling in so am flying solo today... And to add my $.02 I completely agree with Super and would go GPO all the way... If your wife can ski POW like that on BCs she will kill if on GPOs and can use them more than just on major dump days...!

I am not leaving until Wed so hit me up if you want to make a few laps...

We have friends rolling into town on Friday and skiing Sat and Monday with us and it looks like the Summit could pop Sat and if it does I have a strong feeling I am going to thoroughly piss off my wife...!

Your experience on the heavy core was the inspiration for all this. The maneuverability at this width sounds ideal for what I'm looking for. On Wren 108 189cm now (may sell them), and was thinking about getting the new Moment Commander 108 or RX to fill the slot in the quiver. Going to take a chance on the RX! Paging FlowingAlpy...

What don’t you like about the Wrens?

Great ski. Nothing big that I dont like about them, just looking for something a little less tip rocker, a bit stiffer, and a more forward mount point (-8 RX vs -10 Wren). Want something more locked in, that I can still break loose.

True that. And you got a wife that willingly feeds this addiction, bonus.

Agree re Rx. I didn't go heavy core and think the maple, ash, aspen on a 116mm wasited ski is fantastic and plenty of ski for my 190 lb frame. But if they're resort only, go for it.

What you’re looking for, pretty much exactly describes the Rx. You’ll be stoked.

I’m pretty much set on either Enduro core Praxis Rx or On3p steeples, as my 50/50 skis to test out the new shift bindings. If I dont find Steeples soon, I’ll happily customize a 9lb set of Rx.

Part of me wants to try the MVP and GPO, but I really like how the Rx is one of the least “hooky” skis I have ever tried. I’m afraid the GPO/MVP might be more hooky, based on the blistergear reviews. Last thing I want, is a hooky ski in the backcountry.

Zero hook on the gpo. I haven’t tried an rx but a gpo is an excellent touring ski. I like a lot of what blister gear says generally but they shit the bed with that gpo review. Which is strange because their protest review nailed it

Detuned MVPs ain’t hooky. Frankly I don’t get their MVP review. They should feel frictionless compared to your monsters IMO, which they nailed the review on.

Both the GPO and MVP reviews have left me second guessing them. The Rx is just so hook-free, I'm afraid of more exaggerated taper. I find tapered skis more hooky, and less drivable in difficult snow.
