I hate how Tapatalk emails forum members w/o TGR's permission.

I hate how Tapatalk is going to make TGR pay a monthly fee to turn off the obnoxious ads.

Their general business model is changing and I feel that they are trying to monetize our content and user-base behind our backs.

I want to get rid of it. What are your thoughts? Are there changes/improvements I can make to the mobile theme that would make Tapatalk superfluous?

They want to make TGR pay as well? Or instead of?

Because instead of might be nice of you guys... you know.. because of the whole

I run a forum that is available via Tapatalk and haven't been approached about paying them to use the app or remove ads.

Tapatalk is an add-on that connects to the forum. The forum itself is hosted on TGR's servers.

Did you try the "Metro Mobile" interface? I found the other mobile interface to be garbage on my iPhone, but the Metro version works OK.

Andrew, as I've said a few times, the Metro Mobile interface works well enough for me. Solved a lot of problems I had with the tapatalk app, even before the current ad ripoff campaign.

Sometimes people will post images or links that don't show up in the mobile view that I have to switch to the desktop view if I really want to see them. Only slightly annoying since I can work around it if I really want.

I guess having a button for subscribed threads would be nice, but doesn't bother me that much. If I need to find a thread, I can usually find it in a search.

i notice youtube vids don't adjust width and can be cut out, but most pics show up just fine

i'm going to stick with the full site for now since i usually start with my subsribed list

so now that app is back to working -- how do i use the credential that logs me in to the web forum on the app?
i can log in & out all day long on my phone via the web or on my desktop, but the app does not recognize me

Ok so I had a call with Tapatalk last week to sort this all out.

Ads are 100% off for now until I can get our own back into the rotation. There was a billing issue between us and Tapatalk that caused those ads to start. Apologies.

The license error (also related to the above) should no longer appear.

All newsletters and notification emails are turned off. I'm still annoyed that those started being sent automatically, but it's been stopped.
