when I lived in WA yrs ago a buddy and I went there- of course we were expecting something amazing cool- it was neat- big metal poles that caught the wind and made cool organ like sounds like blowing over the tops of big beer bottles

I went on a hike this evening with the dog and noticed many of the youngins home from college hanging out in their hammocks over the creek had some SG going on their phones and burning funny stuff.

Theirs smelled a lot better than mine did at that age.

From reading the various articles the whole thing sounds strange. He was active on social media, looked great at the show the night before with no indications of weirdness. "He was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor" in his room at the MGM casino in Detroit with a "band around his neck". The perverted mind goes to some sort of auto-asphyxia sexual adventure gone bad. Such a bummer. Leaves 3 kids and a wife behind.

I'd forgotten your connection. Your post made me think of an old friend who worked at SubPop...a few of us went to dinner, Susan was there, and I think she and Chris had married recently.

Weird how an event like this takes you back to some vivid memories you haven't thought about in forever.

And still pissed at myself for not going to see Sound Garden and Monster Magnet at the Warfield in 92. If my hazy recollection can be trusted, they played two nights when I was in town. My friends went to the sold out night. I should have gone by myself to the next night which wasn't sold out. At least thats how I remember it.

1992 Lallaplooza Starlake Amphitheater. Had lawn seats. Walking about and there is a mosh pit going. Crowd starts getting bigger and bigger. Cornell was in the pit until it started getting a little too crazy as people started piling in. Security had to get him out of there. Cool that he was amongst the people.
