Flight attendant is probably a racist asshole by the sounds of it, but on these ultra low-cost flights you really need to clear everything with the FA in advance. Swoop charges you $27 to pick a seat that sucks, $34 near the front of the plane, and $55-65 for a seat with extra leg room like the exit rows. I've been on Swoop flights with empty exit rows (most recently July 23 Hamilton to Abbotsford), and no, you're not allowed to sit there. It's lame, but that's their business model and they stick to it.

According to the article they were swapping within same row, a willing passenger gave up the middle seat and the couple was originally in aisle and window seats.

Where in the article does it say that? They were told they'd have to pay for the seat. Which nobody would ever say because all those seats cost the same $. FA wouldn't even notice, and on Swoop the clientele is a bunch of airplane virgin plebs who need to be babysat for wearing seatbelts and putting their sweater under the seat or behind their back on takeoff/landing, so how could they even have the time to harass this poor lady and her family...

It's possible Swoop staff is 100% in the wrong, but I want to hear the flight attendant's side of the story. We will likely never get that opportunity.

Usually airline staff would just let the customer swap seats or not charge them for extra baggage ( I've had this ) or whatever

but its really hard to say what was said altho its hard to believe somebody wasn't recording it

I find it really concerning that the “fuck Trudeau” are completely normal and acceptable, but if I put a “fuck Smith” or “fuck the UCP” sticker on my truck it would be a declaration of war.

Yup, take a country that isnt very patriotic to begin with and give the people a reason to be less patriotic

one of our recent mayoral candidates made the trek to Ottawa almost got his ass killed in a praire whiteout in the process, I don't want a mayor who makes bad choices posssibly breaking laws and almost getting his ass frozen

a team of very able women worked to return the incumbent & make sure he didnt get in but it was closer than anybody wanted

I also hate it. The flag for me was more a symbol of an idea of community, than any form of ultra nationalism whose principles seems to fly against multiculturalism and inclusivity.
Recent muni elections renewed a bit of my faith in my voting neighbours overall thankfully.
