Does anyone have any experience with the roof mounted bike racks for tent trailers? Just bought the trailer and would like some advice on a good, solid rack for it.
Thanks

Are you talking about a pop- up camper? If you are there are these things that look like an upside down v with a circle at the top that will hold the round yakima style bars and can be had for cheap. Then all you would need are some bike trays and you'll be set to go.
We have Yakima racks mounted over the bed of the truck (drilled and bolted into the rails), and then have King Cobras on the round bars. The same exact thing should work on a pop-up trailer, I'd think...
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"
Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, it's an '93 pop-up with aluminum roof still instead of the plastic. I looked at one that had the V brackets bolted on. Since most of the places I camp are usually a long ways from pavement, I was hoping someone would have some experience with durability. It's got to be able to handle 3 bikes , 2 of them aren't real light, over pretty rough roads.
I could just keep loading them in the back of my truck, bit with all the bikes there's not much room left for coolers. Figure since I'm not really "roughing it" anymore, might as well have some room for extra beer.
Bumping this thread...
PlayHarder - Any results?
I'm looking at used popup trailers, also wondering about mounting Yakima (or similar) rack to the roof for use with bikes & gear. Not certain whether there's enough material in the roof to simply drill for pickup shell type brackets.

playharder: talk to racks unlimited in calgary south on macloud or 16ave on the way to the mountains. Great service and advice
Still just tossing them in the back of my truck. I don't have much faith in the strength of the aluminum roof in mine as far as running bolts into it and considering the shape of the roads it travels on.
Racks Unlimited suggested the bolt on or one of the strap-on racks, I think I'm going to stick with the truck box mounts.
