I'm going up to the East Van Old Time Music Social between the 20th and 23rd. Probably drive up a couple of different days if I don't get a place to stay. I have a '97 Subaru wagon, should be able to fit some rims in back. How big are they, how many and where are they? Wonder what kind of questions I might get at the border.

The driver, identified as 46-year-old Matilda Perez, was detained on drug smuggling charges after officers found more than 50 pounds of meth, with a street value of more than $1.6 million.

Investigators say Perez's Chevy Trailblazer arrived at the border crossing Saturday morning. A drug-sniffing dog named Tiran alerted officers to something unusual in the rear of the vehicle.

The SUV was scanned with an X-ray that detected "anomalies in the appearance of the rear tires," according to a written release from the agency.

Officers removed the back tires and found custom metal collars bolted to the rims. The metal collars were cut open to reveal a dozen bundles of meth.
