Saw an article today talking 'what if' on the subject of what regular season ties might look like. Like after 12 or 13 innings, call it done. You know, I consider myself kind of a purist, but I can't say I would be all that against it. Yeah yeah, kissing your sister and whatnot, but fuck, there is 162 games. If you are getting screwed at the end because of a tie, well, tough. I mean, how many 13+ inning games are there/year? Nevermind, I don't really care how many cuz it's not much. Plate a damn run against the 5th reliever or suck it.

I thought for sure that there was no way in hell that the Yanks would be able to win a game after playing till 2:15am then getting on the road to Cincinnati to play the Reds later that evening.

Vegas cleaned up on that one.

But the facts don't back that up — which is just one reason, and only the most superficial of them, why MLB's latest idea to speed up the game is a misguided one. In 2016, there were 185 extra-inning games out of a total of 2,428 games played, or 7.6 percent. Of those 185, nearly two-thirds (122) ended in 10 or 11 innings, and just eight (4.3 percent) lasted 15 innings or longer.

I agree with the article. This epic games are pretty rare. No rules changes are needed.

I think the rule change for auto IBB's is stupid especially using speeding up game time as the reason. But if they made a reasonable rule change for tie's after a certain inning limit, I wouldn't be all that upset.

Mrs landers hosting a bunch of clients at the Indians game tonight. Told her not to ever refer to it by anything other than "The Jake". I also have money on carrasco's wins total this year (over 13) so let's go tribe

Judge will come back to earth a bit: he's got holes in that swing that MLB pitchers can get to once the league has a book on him.
