I was looking at Justin Turner's stats last night. Guy goes from the Mets to the Dodgers a few years ago and all of a sudden his slugging percentage jumps by one hundred points. This would make sense if Dodger Stadium is a hitters' park, but it's not.

    Exciting and fun game....and series.

I imagine purists would argue it wasn’t a great game due to poor pitching or lack of shut down closers.

It definitely seemed like the baseballs have been carrying more than expected. Definitely not the same as cold, outdoor parks.

Smoltz/Buck talked about how some pitchers have complained the baseballs are more slippery and they do not have as much control with their sliders as before. Fact or fiction?

I am kind of a purist, but I am enjoying the offense. Some of the HR's are silly, but I have no dog in this fight other than to be entertained. Great hitting v great pitching is always a good watch, but obviously the fatigue is showing for these pitchers.

Throwing the ball back is a cubs thing ONLY. What a stupid tradition to pass around.

New York sucks. Check out Chris Taylor's career, too

Fact. The balls have changed from previous years. The regular season's balls were not "juiced" in the sense that the innards have changed. The big change in the regular season balls was the seams are now more flush to the surface. The balls now travel farther due to less aerodynamic drag. It's also why a lot of pitchers went on the IR with bad blisters back in the early season. With less seam to grip, some guys were squeezing the new ball to the point they were fucking up their fingers.

The World Series balls are now obviously even harder to grip. None of the league's best can consistently throw a wipe out slider with them. Why MLB felt the need to further handicap the pitcher's ability to grip with these slicker balls for the World Series is anybody's guess. More scoring is nice but watching aces struggle to put movement on the ball and having to sit through over thirty minutes of pitcher changes definitely cancels out the long ball excitement.

Perhaps they are attempting to capture some of the NFL's fan base now that that league's attendance is dropping.

I'd gladly take a game with no home runs over a 10 inning game that lasts longer than five hours. That's a little ridiculous.

Chris Taylor and third-base coach Chris Woodward discuss Taylor hearing "no" instead of "go" and thus deciding not to attempt to tag up
    what the fuck?

he would have made it home easily.

how can you have 2 180 degree opposite calls that sound almost the same?
You can't come up with a better system than "go" vs "no" ??
something you drill occasionally to make sure it works when it's loud & hectic?

jeezus, pay me one day's worth of your 3rd base coach's salary and I'll come up with some unambiguous commands for you.
hell, I'll only charge you for the first and give you 10 extra synonyms for stop/go as a bonus.

    wow

When I played, it was "hold" and "go."

That's baseball. There is no clock, which is one of the beauties of baseball.

It could be worse. Cricket test matches sometimes last several days.

This is interesting. I haven't heard anything about new balls this season and different new balls for the postseason (WS?). It's entirely possible I just flat out missed it. It kind of makes sense, Cy Kluber went on the DL at least once early in the season for blisters on his fingers, but I had no idea it could be related to a new ball.

"Game used base"? That's a new one on me. Do they claim he came in contact with it? Hell do they even claim it's from Yankee Stadium?

They replace bases every 3 innings so bases stay secure and clean,
(also they make fortune selling these)

Steiner Sports handles most Yankees memorabilia.
Earlier the season, Judge was too new to have much items.
His items are still much cheaper compare to Jeter, Rivera and Arod.
Figured this is a good time to get one before it gets too expensive.

    Duuuuude, where ya been?

I would take that base out to the back yard and slide in to it
