omfg, somebody make a gif of Sanchez "catching" that foul tip. That was brutal.

I've got faith in my club, but from here on out it's all superstition, nerves, and anxiety.

    Gotta love baseball.

1b ump just made a great call when the runner failed to touch first, they have to clone this crew if not get robot umpires.

If he turned out instead of in, he could have walked back to 1B with no issue imo.

Pitching foibles aside, it looked like the right team is moving on. So, AL fans, do the Yankees have a chance of beating the Indians?

If memory serves me right, the Cubs have not played the Yankees postseason since the legendary Babe Ruth "called shot" game.

    Yes.
And there should be only one champagne celebration, 2 tops(pennant). Does anybody else see anything wrong with this? Toast some Budweisers and get on with the real games.

I’ve said this same thing in the last two MLB threads I think. It’s one game. You shouldn’t get to celebrate too hard.

Trevor Bauer seems like a real dick, BMills. Any thoughts?

Who fucking cares about the celebrating? These are young guys that played with tons of emotion when their starter went down with one out in the first. Sevy vs. Kluber in game 2, hope he can get his head straight and figure out what spice girl he wants to impregnate.

I want to know when they decided it was a good idea to have the Budweiser logo + Wild Card logo printed on the plastic they hang up in the dressing room. That's over the top.

Of course the Yankees have a shot: anything can happen over the course of a few games. Furthermore, the Yankees biggest weakness compared to Cleveland - their lack of SP - can be mitigated by leaning harder on their bullpen and pulling starters quicker than they could've over the course of 162. That said, they will not have a single favorable pitching matchup over the course of the series.

The Cubs have the same issues, minus having the Bullpen of Doom waiting in relief. They got the best closer in the game in terms of saves, but that's the only consistent thing about the Cubs pitching this season. No one is really dominant, no one is close to the Cy Young discussion and I think every starter got totally nuked at least once this year, some more than once. They are good, but are they consistent enough to beat the best hitters in the postseason? Let's just say I think the Cubs had better score a hell of a lot of runs in support and keep on playing excellent defense. A Cubs vs Yankees series would be really cool but it seems unlikely.

    .
Bauer is a real odd dude. It’s never been a secret that he rubs people the wrong way. He likes doing calculus and electrical engineering - for fun.

The overwhelming storyline from this season is that he’s gone out of his way to develop tight bonds in the clubhouse and stop shaking off his catchers. It’s worked and it shows in his stat line.

If you’re on the other team though he will absolutely be a dick to you. It’s kinda funny to watch. Lots of jawing. He mixes it up with the fans and media a little too much on twitter too from what I understand.

This Rox-Backs game has turned into quite an entertaining game. C'mon Rox, though I think AZ has the horses to make it to the series this year.

Geez I’m fucking nervous as shit! Cleveland fans typically are weary of the “favorite” status.

But... I just got word from my brother in law that I’ve got a ticket for tomorrow night’s game! Woooooo-hoooo!!!

    ROLL TRIBE!!!

    Nice!!!

The Yankees have SP issues which never bodes well in a playoff.
