3-1 would have been better, but a split is ok.
And getting the Chisox was just what the Dr ordered for the Bosox. I'll take it. And Nuñez has really settled into his new team. Between him, Devers and Pedroia is going to be interesting how they fill the 2b and 3b each day. Maybe Dustin can get some regular rest.

Well he's got 1 more ring than Cano, 2 more gold gloves and 1 more MVP, I'm okay with him.

I just miss the Yankees "fans" shitting on Cano and banging the drum to let him walk. Good times. Smart people. Good personnel decisions.

I can honestly take the Shaggy defense on that one, Im sure my hatred of the moves of that era are documented here.

Cano was bad in the clubhouse. Prima donna who didn't always play hard. Good move not to overpay

Cano did more in three years for the M's than Ella will do in his seven or eight seasons. That is fucking overpaying.

And the Mariners have him for another 7 years @ 24 mil a year. He's 34 now, do the math.

M's are playoff bound for the first time since Ichiro was a rookie iirc. It would be a historic failure if they don't, but I may have just put on my ever powerful jinx. Apologies.

OK, they have him for 6 more. yanks have ellsbury for three more. cano is up 19.8 to 8.6 war. let's say they go at exactly the same pace they've gone for the next three years and neither play another game.

    240/war = 6.06m per for robbie
    153/war = 8.9m per for frailsbury

it's not even close. cano is an awesome baseball player. kind of reminds me of how people didn't like beltre much either, wonder what these guys have in common. probably the hof one day.

No doubt that Cano is awesome. That's why the Yankees offered him 25 mil a year for seven years. He took 24 a year for 10. It wasn't the yearly amount, it was the 10 year contract to a 30 year old player. The Yankees are already on the ass end of a few of those.

Ellsbury signed a 7 year contract at age 30. I agree that he has not performed up to the 21 mil he's being paid per year, but his contract is 85 mil less than what Seattle will end up paying Cano. And it will be off the Yankees payroll, and luxury tax concerns, three years earlier.

And BTW...Yankees ultimately get Castro, who is better and cheaper (way) and YOUNGER than Cano

Dude plays the position most prone to getting knicked up and he never misses a game. "Prima donna who didn't always play hard" = Hispanic guy who didn't give the hack sportswriters the quotes that they wanted in order to write their Mad Lib articles.

Who said he was Hispanic? Guys been a notorious dog for his career (I have my own eyes, don't blame it solely on the media) although he has hall of fame level talent

Cory Kluber is a fucking beast!

Yet another complete game. Yet another game with 10+Ks (adding to the streak only shared with someone named Ryan and one other guy) Cy Kluber indeed.

Oh, and a walk off 3 run jack! to win over the red hot Rockies.

    ROLL TRIBE!

Imho it's Kluber and Sale in a race for the CY.

Kluber is the 3rd pitcher in baseball history to K 8+ in 13 straight games and he's still going. Sale has the wins edge.

Should be fun to see what's up.

Wtf happened to last year's winner?

Porcello had some control issues that he seems to have improved on recently but he had had zero run support (which also seems to be coming around a bit), so maybe he'll finish strong. Still a quality pitcher, I was amazed as anyone at his year last year though. He goes tonight against TB, the Sox are hot, let's see how he does.
