    Thumbs up Patagucci rules!

I sent my end of season damage to them a month ago (broken zipper on a 5 year old parka, ski slices on a seven year old pair of pants), expecting a bill before they went ahead with the repair. But, no, they went ahead and did the work gratis, and sent it right back. cool.
They've got me as a long term customer, but, damnit, their stuff hardly ever breaks.

absolutely, their customer service and product repair are tops. i never mind shelling out a buck or 2 more. that said though, i'm pretty pissed that they've resized so much of their clothing in the baggy direction.

I'm not. A lot of their stuff never fit me, which was frustrating because I used to work there (retail) and could get everything for about 75% off. Got a lot of people a lot of great birthday presents. It's a great place to work.

Patagonia also contributes a great deal of money to grants for environmental causes and action. They are truly a company that gives back to the planet we live on.

They rock. I recently returned a jacket where the pockets had blown out - after mentioning numerous times I'd bought it on sale, they gave me store credit for the full retail price + CA tax. And I bought it in OR!

i think it refers as much to the price as anything, but if you have half a brain, you never pay more than 50% of retail for their stuff.

Are they the only outdoor clothing company in the US that has sewing machines in the US?

every other company I've sent gear back to for warranty repair just sends me a brand new piece of said gear.

Yeah, scan the racks always for half off (Paragon in NYC during late season is a gold mine, and online at www.sierratradingpost.com.).But the stuff lasts so long, and with the repair gifties, I can't justify new clothes. Like my Subaru in car land (uh, no freebies there - the repair shop is drooling at my 70000 ODO, just waiting....).

My best experience was a three for one, originally bought on sale. The original was a nice bright green (1988) that faded. They actually gave me full catalog credit for something similar - and it was just a color problem. That parka lost a zipper twice (bad design - they tried to vent the torso side like a pit zip - didn't work), so I got a third, list from catalog.

I wonder if they've changed their women's line as well? I have one of the women's R2 jackets, a few capilene camisoles, but otherwise their women's stuff never fits me well. It's cut fairly petite and doesn't give room for the chesticles.

they replaced my Epic Jacket no questions asked.

I think I've got the same pair of pants. f'ing things look like they got caught in a wood chipper.

Been dealing with Patagonia for uniforms for 3 seasons. A lot of their ski pants were sort of sized for Euros (their explanation not mine) tall skinny etc. They promised me they were re-sizing their Primo line to be a more useful sizing. And they are going back to sizing that takes into account things like lenghth VS waist.

Ex. next season you can get a pair of 34 waists in Short, Med. or Long.

Agreed Patag is bomber with good service. The only thing they don't stand by are the gaskets on their paddle gear. Mtn. Hardware has repaired some very old stuff for me at a decent price.

Dear Steepandcheap customer service, (in case you're listening)

    You suck.

I ordered a Patagonia down jacket, but mistakenly ordered a large instead of a medium. My emails requesting guidance on how to make an exchange were returned as "undeliverable;" you didn't include a phone number; the exchange instructions said to order another one from the website to insure availability and then to return the orginal for credit; and eventually after a week I gave the jacket as a gift to someone else and now will be very cold this winter. I bet Patagonia would have exchanged it no questions asked. That's because they are a great company. You guys? Maybe not so much.

Thanks and have a pleasant day.

Helly Hansen's warranty repair is just down the road from where I work in Auburn, WA. I hand carried a jacket needing a seam repair after going thru the paperwork and they sewed up up on the spot.
Good runs when you get them.

I'll crush you. Although it would be sweet to get free paddling gear from Patagonia, even though they pulled a "K2" with Lotus Desgins. Not quite as core as being sponsored by Sobe though.

same deal with mine....I don't even think they lasted half a season before shredding apart, but I threw a few layers of duct tape over the tears and it's held up for 3 seaons.
