To be fair, the press just rediscovered the fact that half pipe snowboarding exists and that White is good at it. Rediscovering that White is an asshole is the step that logically follows.

The 4 and a half minutes of indignation and side eye towards White from the Today Show cast this morning was terribly ironic given how silent they apparently have been the past ten years with their former co-host Lauer.

So I finally caught some of the Olympic games earlier today, that ramp jump thingy where they go for distance. How fucking boring! I'm thinking combine this event with shuffle board- i.e., team of jumpers take their turns, but then have to stand where they land. opposing teams can try for greater distance (without falling off a cliff at the end of the course), or knock their competitors off the LZ. That I could totally watch!

yeah i just watched part of it and white is an asshole and everybody should get what they have coming but everybody on the today show knew about lauer so it looked pretty pathetic.

It was amazing how they led the story with, “Shawn White achieves Gold, under a cloud of sexual harassment” and wrung their hands with concerned faces as they played the “gotcha moment” from his press conference. (Actual snowboarding clip to follow)

There’s still a dressing room with the name Lauer scratched out and Hoda crudely scrawled over it somewhere backstage in Pyeongchang.

I don’t know White from a hole in the ground. He could be an ass, but to have those 3 puff pieces looking down their nose at him on what should be his biggest day was a laugh.
