I find Bodie to be very professional, super smart about the sport(he should be), and just pleasant to listen to, as a result. Very level-headed commentary without the hype.

the confidence and relevant observations shine through

Pretty sure embedded in the constant drone I have heard Shawn White about every 10 seconds

Yes he really did show up for the qualifier. I guess because of the media over hype, I would like to someone else rise to the top.

with respect to Shawn white. On the bright side I don't have to see his band on the late night talk shows

Svindal dropped out. Not surpising, he didn't sound very confident in the interview about the slalom. "I don't know, I havn't run slalom in two years, so we'll find out..."

I wonder if he didn't just want the extra course training.

I have given White shit for many years, here and in person as mags can testify, but I am really psyched for that guy.

End on a motherfucking high note and secure your legacy with class. Hair gel and all!

He finally grew up. Mad props. He throws down. Should be the legacy to the Burton empire.

As for commentary, I posted awhile ago, just mute your feed of choice and crank your tunes of choice.

    Very watchable at that point.

Hirscher! Killed it. Bode says all the others can do is try and ski their best, rather than attempt to come up to his level.

Love combined. It really shows how great guys like hirscher are at it when you watch the dh guys give it a try.

Wow, that was a good run by Hirsher.

Also, I'm watching it online. Just watch the standard stream, not primetime or enhanced. Less commercials and more skiing.

Not sure how that link will work now that it's over but right now you can go down a bit and click on hirsher's run under key moments.

    So what's rancho competing in?

US XC women held their own this morning in the classic sprints getting Sophie Caldwell through the semis and Jessie Diggins into the finals. No podium but it’s awfully hard to beat the Scandos. 3 US ladies in the top 12 bested any other country.

That's great! I'd say making it into the top top twelve in that event is a huge plus for the US team.

Exceedingly true in Slopestyle Snowboarding. Most of those girls barely made the transition. Quite a few landed flat. Then again they all look tiny so maybe the wind affected them more.

Forgot his name but the 6'8" US skier with the porn 'stache is funny as hell.

It's amusing that some skiers in this thread take digs on the snowboarders and snowboarding and THAT is what they have representing them and seem to like it. Eww.. Men skiers big letdown so far.

The chicks got a raw end of the deal with the wind. Still, it looked like an average day in the Waterville Valley park with the level of skill shown. I think the US girl won with a cab 5 and a couple 720's. What is this the 90's?

I don't know how you could watch the men's halfpipe qualifying and not be impressed. Those guys make impossible shit look like a walk in the park.

Bryce Bennett, super nice guy. He came and raced a speed series at Bachelor 2-3 yrs ago and was really genuine with the young kids. Some of my beer league buddies went to Kitzbuel this year and got to party with the US team after the DH, and said Bryce was hilariously drunk.

Anderson is a big woman compared to some of the other competitors. Worked to her advantage in the wind.

Most those girls weigh around 100-120lbs.
Sideway gust of wind will blow them off balance up in the air.
    They had no chance landing.

Chloe Kim interview said how important it is for her to stick that last round even after winning it (98.5). An athlete wants to leave their best on the field. What a great champion.

The SL run by Hirscher was insane, seemed like he had worse wind and vis than any other racer but was so dialed it didn't phase him a bit. His consistency is amazing, 120 podiums in 219 WC starts. He'll be tough to beat in the GS and SL.

The ski courses look fair. Perfect snow and enough difficulty to identify the right champion. Great venue for Olympics.

Chloe Kim interview with Carl coming up on CNBC.

Yes, on all counts. He was very dialed in.
