    ACL post-op stoke

Probably a bit late, but they weren't digital photos etc etc. Anyway, this is from a day in Gressoney, Italy back in March. About 7 months post op and the day I realised that I would be able to ski properly again. About 1600m of descent, a bit of walking to begin with, boot deep powder and a few "interesting" rocky sections - all in all a nice day out in the mountains

    Paul on the walk in

Me (no comments about ski carrying technique OK? )

Paul failing to give it some, despite me calling him a wuss

Further down, backside of Monte Rosa in the background

A view back up where we came from

Great pics, and great to see you gettin' it after recovery! How did you tear it? Choice of graft?

I tore it in moguls so I probably only have myself to blame. A binding (Atomic ) prereleased, I caught the trailing foot on a mogul, jarred it and the ACL went. The irony was that I had set the bindings quite light hoping to protect a previous injury.
Went for the hamstring graft. Wasn't given much choice, actually. The patellar one doesn't seem to be done much in the UK now.
Should be gettin it properly next season anyway - seeing your posts elsewhere sounds like you'll be doing the same. The injury almost makes it more rewarding!
