    etree.org downloads.- Paging phUnk

There are tons of shows for legal download on etree.org, but I'm toom uch or a jong to figure out how to play them. I downloaded the mkw audio compressor and the Smart FTP. I downloaded the Smart FTP after downloading the files to a folder. I can't get these files to play as they are still labeled .flac. They are MD5 verified from using the mkw software. If phUnk or anyone else can help I'd appreciate it.

flac is a lossless audio codec, getting quite popular:

    http://flac.sourceforge.net/ has links to players.

you can get a plugin for winamp to play flac. I dont know about for windows but there are some linux programs that can convert to wav and from there to mp3.

    Flac files...

Ive been using etree for a long time, great place for live music.

Flac files can be used in two ways:

    1) The FLAC plugin for winamp can play them on your PC

    2) You can use the Flac "frontend" to decompress the files into .wav files. Then you can burn them on CDs.

The concept behind Flac is bit for bit compression meaning your file comes as an exact digital copy of the original file that was compressed into a Flac file.

I recommend reading the faqs on etree's site for further information, or PM me and Ill try to help you out.

Yeah I've been getting shorten files from archives.org for a while, but I've just been downloading older stuff. This John brown's Body show from 2005 was the first one where I had to deal with flac stuff. I got it all wired now. Got the frontend codec for winamp. Thanks
