    Bindings for my Tweaks

Does anyone know of a good pair of bindings for the Atomic Tweaks. The ones I have now are too heavy. I heard Look makes good bindings. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hucksquaw - yeah your probably right.

Well, I'm about a beer and a half into tonight, and frankly I'm sick of all the bullshit that went on in the Indy thread, so I'm gonna be nice.

    MGR - more info please

    1. What level of skier are you? How aggresive are you?
    2. What type of skier? - BC, terrain park, groomers, etc.
    3. Are you looking for an alpine, alpine touring, or a telemark binding?

Sorry for the lack of info. I currently have the atomic neox bindings. I'm an advanced skier and pretty aggressive. I'll using these skis mainly for the park, but I also ski groomers quite a bit. So I'm looking for a lightweight pair of alpine bindings.

I also thought of something. If I already have the neox bindings on my skis, can I take them off or am I stuck with them? Also, will other manufactors bindings fit on Atomic Tweaks?

    Dude are you serious?

Well, I guess you're super into skiing, but not the gear so much, but that's cool.

Yes, you can take those neox binders off. Unfortunate for you, next seaon's Neox binders will weigh a pound less, but they are still kind of heavy for a park specific rider.

You can put any brand of binding on those skis. Here's my recommendations:

    1. Don't get markers.
    2. Don't get markers.
    3. Any look Pivot series bindings. I don't know how much you weigh, but any 12 DIN or 14 DIN Look pivot binding should do you (i.e. Look Pivot 12, Pivot 14, Pivot 12 jib, etc)
    4. Rossignol bindings are EXACTLY the same as look bindings (Rossi Axial 140 or 120, Scratch 140 or 120, Power 140 or 120).
    5. Salomon bindings are good. (S914 or S912ti) Stay away from the PowerAxe lifter plates (ie PS or PE2). A rule for all bindings, if you're a jibber and want to go light, is to go with as little lift as possible and don't have the toe and heel piece connected by any lifter shit.
    6. Don't get Markers

That's about it. Look/Rossi and Salomon are generally it in terms of choices here. Some won't agree with me, but keep in mind I'm a certified binding tech, that Tyrolia also has one binding that is superlight and has good retention. This year it's called the Mad Flex 9 (DIN 5-15) and next year it's called the Mojo 15. Low retail price, lightweight and good retention. You can probably get a pair of these for around $150 new or cheaper if you look around.

Pull those Neox bindings off and sell them on ebay. If you wait until Nov/Dec to get rid of them you'll get a better price, but right now you could probably get $50-100 for them. If you need help on where to look for cheap bindings, feel free to ask.

Thanks a lot. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Your right I'm into skiing, but I'm a complete novice when it comes to ski gear. It's kind of weird because I'm a complete gear whore when it comes to my other sports.

Start whoring yourself over to skiing. It'll keep you from buying crap. Here's a good place to ask about anything. Collectively we've all used probablay 99% of the gear out there.

Actually, the S914 FIS (no plate crap) is lighter than the Look/Rossi P14. I know you wouldn't think it, but it's true.

How are the Look Pivot 12 jib bindings? They look pretty good and I found a good deal on them.

If you are mainly a park rider, definitely get the P12 jibs if you found them for a good price.

If not, try find a pair of 912 ti's...quite light, but still a good park binder and I've seen some great deals on these lately as well.

Awesome, plus they come with a fat brake!

Yeah, get 'em. I'm not sure all versions come with wide brakes, but it doesn't matter for you. The "jib" P12 comes with a thin elastomer pad (doesn't effect height) under the heel to absorb shock from landings.

As an added bonus they look pretty cool.

I prefer the Look lineup also, but I actually have more Tyrolia bindings than Look. I use the Look P12/P14s on my big mountain setups and the Tyrolias on the rest. The Tyrolia Mojo 15 is a great binding that is truly bomber without being overly heavy. I have a couple pairs that I picked up at the end of the season. Tyrolias are made in Austria (just like your Atomics) and are supposedly the top selling binding in the world. They're just not as popular in the U.S. for some strange reason.

Agreed on the Tyrolias. I've got the Mad Flex (older version of the new Mojo) on a few sets of my sticks. Great binders, good feel, fairly lightweight.

Those Fischer bindings I'm selling are just rebadged Tyrolia's, by the way. 6-17 DIN.

Are you kidding? I would never ever recommend these as park bindings, or as any other kind of bindings. Almost as bad as Atomics.

Are you talking about the P12's or the 912's. Either way, I'm not kidding.
