    Pass or Beacon, not both....

Well, the Mrs. is done internship in October 05. Then it is time for the REAL job to start and we are not sure where, but USU has their eye on her and interview on Friday. Signs are pointing in the direction of Logan, UT or back East. Logan please please please.

Beaver Mtn is usually where I get the $220 pass. But they go up each month now $20 or so and by the time we know, it will be way more than I want to spend for little ole Beaver.

Have all the BC gear but a Beacon at this point on SKIS. Snowboarding will require the rare day pass for chair access.

I am liking skiing more at this point than boarding, a bit burned out and keep killing my back. Skiing and skinning seems ok on the back.

So I do think the Beacon and money spent on my Avie 1 class is the logical choice. Of course it is June and maybe she gets a killer job and we have the budget for both, which then would be a pass at Snowbasin.

Regardless, I will ski plenty of days, just might not be lots of vert and I get to get into killer shape.

    Just thought I would share.

    Talking

I just need to talk to someone. It helps to get it all out in situations like this. I can't hold EVERYTHING inside.

And keep the touching to yourself buddy!

i mean BC only is pretty core....im sure with all the dumps you guys get in UT there will be alot of days when the slide danger is too high to go in the BC....and you will wish you had lift access to the 40 inch days....

I don't ski BC or inbounds without my beacon anymore. A) never know when you want to duck a rope and head into something uncontrolled and b) I've seen too much shit rip inbounds at Brighton (and other places). Just throw down and get the beacon...it should be the last one you'll ever need...then it's just the cost of AAAs every year or two.

Can't use the pass if you're buried and gone.

Im also a father now and commute to work 5 days a week for over 2 hours a day, so time to actually make the pass affordable or break even will be tough. Plus I can't just ditch my wife every weekend and say I am skiing or boarding, well maybe one day per weekend.

So the half dozen day tickets at various resorts will probably work. The rest I will get out and skin it up.

Budgets suck. But managing money properly is a good thing and we decided it is time, finally. Racked up too much "fun" on the CC and now it is time to pay the piper.

(If E hits the job thing big, then I may reconsider, as she is in her 3rd interview today. If we find out soon that it is in the bag and we are heading to Logan again, then I may see about moving funds around for the Beav pass, depending on the price)

I put a high priority on family. Then I ski.

It is very important for a father to participate in activities with his children. It builds their self-esteem and sense of self. I think you need to get out every weekend so you stay in shape to take your daughter (IIRC) as soon as she is able. Just tell your wife you're doing it so your daughter won't be a juvie. I'm sure she'll understand.
I ski because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.

I would wait to see what happens with E's job, then buy the beacon. The dad thing does reduce the number of days, well, at least the amount of vert. Soon you will become fond of the dawn patrol.

She is very understanding. And I do plan to get her going, but she first needs to get that head from flopping all over the place.

This just in..... Beaver wont have germainia in by next year. They couldnt get thier act together. Plus thier office isnt open in the summer so by the time you bought a pass it would probably not be worth it. And on top of that, I wont be there next year.... the whole place is gonna fall apart. My advice, Get to know the bc up here really well, wait a year till finaces are stable and by the beaver pass when they get a few upgrades. Then in a few seasons when Im back in logan, you can be my guide to the BC .

So if you do come back up here, Will you back in Cove? or are you gonna try living in the "Big City"?

If we can get our place back up in Cove it is a done deal, 10 acres, dog can run, run run and "The Return of Buzzapalooza" will happen next summer! Multiple kegs this time.
