Thumbs up Fund raiser for Ben!

Got this email from the Arctic Bike Club:

Some of you may have read the nice story in Sunday's paper about Ben
Couturier, age 18, who will make an attempt to be the youngest finisher
of the grueling Race Across America (RAAM) non-stop bike race beginning
June 19th. I fondly remember Ben as my "side-kick" on a few Iditasport
adventures--he shadowed my wheel (literally) for miles across frozen
tundra through the Susitna Valley and Alaska Range, yakking non-stop the
whole way. He was 13 or 14, and I was late-thirty-something. His
maturity and competence at his age was impressive!

Ben's never shied away from a challenge and RAAM certainly isn't one of
them. This is just to let you know that he could use a boost in terms
of funds to get him across the country. There's a chili dinner this
    Saturday, June 4th, 5-8 p.m. at Reggi Park's house (3914 Merrill Street)
to benefit the effort. The cost is $20 which includes a raffle ticket
for a 2005 Mt. Bike racing pass, a Kaladi coffee card, a Bliss Massage,
Bear Tooth/Mooses Tooth gift card, an REI bike tune-up and much more!
Additional tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Please call Jeremiah Bell
at 770-3578 or Reggi Parks at 245-5088 for more information and to
RSVP. Direct contributions can be made to: RAAM Benefit Dinner, 18824
Mountain Point Drive, Eagle River, AK 99577.

Ben is the man and graduating with me tonight, and I think won't disapoint with this race bid

    Peace,
    AKPM
