Thanks! I grabbed that one, supposed to arrive this weekend, so maybe next Tuesday I can actually finish the ride.

I also looked into Zwift mods so I could thrill everyone by showing up in a Borat thong and socks to my knees, but oddly the PC modding community doesn't seem to have done anything for Zwift.

Tour of Watopia is coming up - March 29 to April 29

Tip: sign up for a tour ride every time you jump on in the month of April - you get 2x experience points and can jump multiple levels in the month. You don't need to finish and you don't need to race it, just sign-up for the event (days of works) and start riding at the start time. Events are usually happening every hour or two, so easy to find one that fits the schedule.

Does anyone here use Zwift on an iPhone? Not the Companion App, but the actual game app? Mine is stuck on the welcome screen, won't go past it. I don't normally use my iPhone to run the game, but it's bugging me. Can't seem to find an answer (yet) in the Zwift forums.

I bought this ANT+ dongle and this Amazon USB extension cable. There was an option when I bought the dongle to bundle it with an extension cable, I would choose that route if I were to buy again. Extension cable is definitely needed to get dongle position correct.

New update yesterday with the new AI group dynamics across all fields of play. It definitely made it easier for me as a lightweight to hang with the gorillas near the front of the pack on a TDZ makeup ride I did about a month ago. Good on them for trying to reduce the constant churning on the front.

5 stages, 2 different routes each stage. A route is a little longer, B route is shorter, C route is a female only Category, and E route is the same as B but fir beginners with Zwift group leaders giving advice and encouragement.

Double XP points for every event, and 9 of the 10 routes offer route badges, so you can really bump up your XP Levels!

And apparently you can ride the routes multiple times during the time period and still get 2xp each time

    Zwift, TR, Sufferfest etc

^yes, normally 20xp per Km (or 30xp per mile, but who would use miles? You get a 7% gain if your settings are using a scientific measurement)
But any of the routes, or partial parts of the route will get you 40xp per km. No need to complete the route, or no limit to how many times you ride the route.

April is mud month here. No outdoor riding (too warm for fatbiking on snow followed by inch deep sticky mud on any clear trails) so I will be milking zwift for bonus XP while you more fortunate people south of the wall will be making your way outdoors

I use my iPhone projected to TV via lightning/HDMI connector and haven’t had any issues. I did update the Zwift app right before last nights TGR ride as well, maybe try that?

I did a workout yesterday and it seemed pretty clear that my fan, which was sitting on the floor between me and my computer, was screwing up pairing with my trainer (connecting with Zwift companion). Everything was fine until I turned on the fan, then instant loss of connection. I moved the fan and no more issues for the rest of the ride. Interference from the fan motor? My friend says the fan must have been blowing the packets away. Anyway, I'm optimistic that moving the fan+my ANT+ antenna that's in the mail will resolve my connection issues.

App upgraded, I think prior to trying any of this nonsense. Uninstalled then reinstalled the app, turned phone off then on again, all that happy shit, and still nada. I found some posts that suggested being paired with certain devices (mostly Apple watches) could cause the welcome screen freeze issue. So, I deleted all my BT pairings to see if that helped, and nada. So now I have to pair all my speakers again, but whatever. At any rate, probably gonna quit worrying about it since I always use my old laptop anyways.

I'm planning on riding this afternoon, anyone else? I suck as a pacesetter, probably. But I'll do what I can to keep a group together, unless someone with more experience is riding. See ya'll in 30-ish!

    5 of us tonight:

    XtrPickels
    Huckbucket
    FullTrucker
    Cowboy Neal?
    EWG

We had a very nice time. Talked about socks. Everyone agreed that short was best.

(one of those things may not be completely true)

Really good ride and yes a nice time was had by all, I'd hope. I got a Circuit Breaker badge (hitting 700W) and also got an FTP increase detection. And more than that, felt stronger on that damn hill than I have in the past, even pushed an average of ~340W (~3.8W/kg) up that bastard on lap 3, which is really new (and also really good) for me.

Not sure why I had that "Finding riders..." message across my screen the entire time. That happened a couple times in the past, not sure what's up. I think it's because I forgot to RSVP to the ride, then did so around 3 minutes out.

Pickles showed me some love by not just riding away on the hill. Then I rewarded him by sprinting for the finish after letting him drag me there. Yup ... I'm a dooooshhhe

Bought me a new direct drive trainer. My avg w/kg was up around 3. I’m lucky if I can hold 2.6 now. I’m sure my old trainer just wasn’t accurate. So good news is I get to work harder! See y’all Tuesday.

What were you doing for watts?
I averaged 410 up the hill and then 340 from the top of the hill to the finish, including another jab at 400 to try to get away from you. But nothing stuck.

The new ai seemed a bit odd.
On my screen, I was not climbing the hillon the front, but I was doing a higher w/kg, so I felt "stuck" to the rider in front of me.
Then, when I was on the front, I thought the additional 50 watts would have created a gap but I got nothing.

One thing is for sure though: when HuckBucket came blazing by me out of the saddle, he was clear in an instant!

Yeah ... sorry CN. We sorta turned the screws a bit on that last lap. Good you got home. Innsbruck gets a little funky at night.
