    What a terrible story.

I can't fathom what it would be like to leave your father dead on a mountain and hike out for help alone. Best wishes for Jordan, his family and friends.

My girlfriend got a call from sheriffs dispatch this am at around 7, wanted to know if I was up there, they heard we had been skiing up there. Super harsh, was hoping that they did not go up there on our TR.

    Don't think they were skiing
Preliminary reports they were "on belay" decending and something let loose.
The son was knocked out for an undisclosed amount of time, the father was believed to have been killed instantly.

Thought the name sounded familiar. I didn't ever know him, but I'm pretty sure I did some studio mastering for him in the 80's. Don't know why else the name would be so familiar. He was an indie singer/songwriter. He has some really good stuff on his site that lots of folks here would probably enjoy. Maybe a small way to help would be to buy some of his music to help it live on.

I just heard they were actually roped up, but not anchored to anything, maybe a belay (sp?) involved. That is the preliminary, the son I think was released from the hospital.

Shit, that sucks. Matt, you stay safe in all your radness. Those mountains are unforgiving.
