    Dominican Republic all inclusive resorts?

Anyone been, if so which one did you go to, did you like it?
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Honestly, I'd venture that they all suck. I've been forced to go to two of them (Hard Rock and Paradisus) for destination weddings. But if you like cruises, they might be ok.

Cabarete is a fun windsurfing beach with a few AIs. Incredible setting. Samana peninsula is rural, beautiful & has some AIs dotting its coast.

I didn't go anywhere near the major coastal cities though. enjoy whatever you decide.

We went to Now Larimar in Punta Cana.
High wall compound, not much local food, good beaches, excursions were a lengthy drive, many topless Euro babes.
    It ranks as "Okay".

Cabarete +1, a weekend chilling at the Millennium resort and spa before working in Santiago DLC, good but it's not AI.

FWIW, if you get the Wyndham credit card, the signup bonus (45K points) is worth 3 nights at any Wyndham property -- including their all-inclusive resorts, and they have a handful of them in the Dominican Republic.

Stayed at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana with the the Mrs and kids (ages 6 and 7) in 2014...

Pool was awesome....drank lots and floated....everything else was 'as expected' for an All-Inclusive but it didn't suck either....

    Not sure if this helps....

Stayed at Paradisius 4 years ago, thought it was pretty good. DR is not my favorite vacation spot in the Caribbean but the resort was really nice, food was pretty good, service was great..

January is whale season in Samana bay. Doable as a day trip from the east half of the country.

    Dominican Republic all inclusive resorts?

I stayed at the Barcelo in Punta Cana and I would not recommend it. Hotel was massive, and pretty boring. Beach and grounds were ok, but nothing special. I drank a shit ton.

Overall I was pretty under impressed with Punta Cana, but it may have just been the hotel I was staying at. For the money I would just go to Cancun - its basically the same, with a little bit nicer beach.

The highlight of the trip was a boat ride we took out of the hotel where we got to go snorkeling and went to another beach.

We didn't really leave the hotel our whole trip, which was probably a mistake.... so maybe that was why I was under impressed. But overall I think I could have saved money and just gone to Cancun.

I also got violently ill while in Punta Cana. Fuck that! montezumas revenge is miserable, and I was careful not to drink the water.
