This showed up on my doorstep last week.

I wonder if the guy from Porsche will understand when I explain to him that I'm not quite sure where it is at the moment but I'm sure it'll turn up sooner or later. Possibly some time in May.

Hang on... that's not Tooting The car might make a nice place for Brewski to sleep though. hehe...

Roo: The pricing panel camer from the chalets de la meije site here for the full service package and here for standard rentals. I hope they were the right prices I gave you but it looks as if I am a dumb fucking idiot (505 was the price I gave you right?) and the price for the place you're looking at should be 535 (the difference is smaller for the other apartment). Might have cocked up and looked at the summer prices... Hope not... Sorry if I did... Beer's on me if I cocked up...

The cheapest place in town is Gite le Refuge - they are advertising 10E per night. Phone 04 76 79 91 89. Email eliane[dot]rousset [at]efpg[dot]impg [dot]fr. I think it's a nice enough place. At the top of the village; that's not really a problem as you'll realise when you see the place.

Roo...I have no words to decribe the raging jealousy that is boiling up inside me right now...go beat that thing to a pulp.

On a similar note, a Da'Kine Dually bag woth 185cm XXX will fit easily inside an M3...ya just don't want to have any passengers.

Mulletizer - no worries. I appreciate you finding it in the first place and another €30 divided by six is, well, pretty small beer.

Truth - That Porsche is a blast. I only wish I could afford to run the thing! At an average of 13mpg, our $6 gallons will soon wear a hole in my budget. I have something FAR more modest lined up for January.

It may have even less panache than a Twingo. :P

    BTW Anyone for stickers? Ideas?

ONS can send the scaleable logos for us to play with in finalising a sticker.

He also reckoned some TGR crew from Chamonix may also be on their way down to join us.

Looks like the blocking high pressure region will be on its bike by Wednesday/Thursday giving the Oisans some snow. [/antijinx]

My first couple of days last season I still didn't have a place rented. Here was my home. Note the blacked out windows, alloys and "shopping" decal.

I pulled out the passenger and back seats and laid a board the length of the car and put a thermorest and bag on that. Pretty comfortable and I liked having my beer crate sitting on the driver's seat where I could just reach it from my bed

Now that's core. How cold did it get?

I've had a few idea of my own about heating a truck bed...

It was pretty toasty once I had a couple of blankets and my breath had warmed up the car a bit. I'm sure that a good skinful of genepi helped too. It was only for the first Mondial weekend (because I didn't have my place in La Grave until the following weekend) so early season, not too chilly. Sleeping in the car wasn't core; having a car like that with black rear lights and a carbon strip along the side is, however, truly core

Great sticker, like the colors and "eurothrashers". Maybe I should make the drive down to pick one up... Thinking about it. LITT

Just checked out the ispo site for details on when lph, Natty, and I will need to be in Munich to find new kill products for PMG. ispo runs Feb 1-4, so we'll have time before and or after to do whatever, with a little sidetrip to Andorra. Idris has informed me that there will be a nice diesel van avialable for us to use while we're there, so the Euro Maggot Bus might be a total reality. It hauls like 8 or 9 plus gear. What are the dates on this again?

    OUT. OF. CONTROL.

If anybody's toying with the idea of skiing Europe, believe me, the time is now. You'll be guaranteed a warm welcome in both Chamonix and La Grave.

I think some old maggot once noted that doing's better than having. The doing's going off in France in January...

I finally managed to book that chalet. We're on.
Go here click on the Stars and Stripes and take a virtual visit. Sick view off the balcony.

Here's some webcam shots of the mountain.

Chalet's booked from the 17th to the 24th January so let me know how many nights you'll be staying and I'll work out the costings.

    STOOOOOOOOOOKED!

The 17th to the 24th sounds good to me. My work is still a bit tenative, but I don't think it will be a problem. I'll probably have to just be on call during the week. (damn computers!)

Check your PM. (I PMed you, didn't I?)
