    Thumbs up

sweet! i think i may pick one of those bad boys up this summer. i'm looking to start short boarding a bit now that i have gotten comfortable on the long board - do you think one of those would be a good place to start? seems to me like it would...

buddy of mine just got this guy - he loves it - hopefully i can try it out this summer

    p.s. yankees suck

i'd seen a blue merrick twin in the shop a few weeks back. they look nice. i like the color, but i wonder why it doesn't go all the way around.

i'm not sure about going from a longboard to a fish, but see if your buddy will let you take his out for a spin.

re: the yankees - your boys had the chance to blow things wide open over the past coupla weeks while the yankees did, in fact, suck.

I'd go with something longer and fatter than fish. An Egg, or a longer, higher volume shortboard. $.02 from someone who switched recently.

I love fishes like that for mini days. But gonzo, I wouldn't rec. you get one. They're easy to paddle, easy to get up on, but surf like shit and will teach you bad habits when progressing to a real short board. They teach you to never use the tail (the huge swallow makes for shitty tail stalling and tail driven turns). They're great boards, but teach bad habits. Analogy: It would be like buying spatulas and claiming that your gonna finally learn how to go carve. Sure you might be able to in certain situations, and they'd be great fun, but you ain't gonna progress shit.

the low tide wrecks havoc on everything but the breakwater. so, of course, it's beyond packed as summer kook season has begun (sorry, no drew in sight).

surfed from 6 to sunset on saturday when the winds calmed down and went to the rose bowl flea market sunday morning.
