Granted, terrible, but is it the worst song put out by a celeb in the 80s?

Brutal. That’s awful. Didn’t listen long enough to count it out, but pretty sure that song is in 12/12, to boot.

"Meatloaf" makes me a little homicidal. Hate one of his songs too much to name it.

    You won't do that?
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

My vote has always been The Police’s Mother, off Synchronicity, but it’s so bad I think it’s deliberate. Runner up is Wonderful Christmas Time.

Yeah, that's a real turd for sure. I've always figured he had some sort of contract that required him to record a Christmas song. Probably wrote the lyrics while talking on the phone. Made no revisions, then recorded the vocals in a single take, then let whoever finish up the rest.

This thread would not be complete without some William Shatner

Some have probably heard his horrendous version of Rocket Man

but not being content, he raised the bar even higher (lower?) with this astoundingly awful version of Bohemian Rhapsody

Re Shatner above, Nimoy's musical chops weren't much better; his version of If I Had A Hammer is gut-wrenching.

As for horrifying covers in general, there's always this:

Nothing much to add re worst song; We Built This City works for me.
