Sweet, i get a 4 day break next weekend. Gonna pay for my range pass and hopefully bust some caps. Been waiting a year for it to open. Have a good Octoberfest.

So many options and not enough time. Today I have a quick task for work, but the drive to the site takes me by National Forest, so maybe a hike after I finish. Or a friend has a Summer Lake House that is not far, maybe give them a call and see what is up with them and stop for a visit.

Golf- maybe try and get out tomorrow afternoon for a short round of 9, then off to help with preparations on a local homeless dinner.

Monday is a Bike Tour- 100km for a charity benefit. Probably will need a nap after since can't sleep in, then maybe work around the house getting grass cut and a few projects on the list.

Joined the neighbours on a little hike up in Wells Gray, and then a nice meal with them afterwards. Our little ladies are 3 mo apart and they had a blast on the outing, and the 'party' after.
The rest of the weekend will include a trip to the nearest city, maybe the rodeo/fall fair that's between us and the big smoke, and if the weather turns, some garden work. Little one is not in public school until next year, so we revel in the simplicity.

This whole Hermine storm is bust, as far as raging weather. In fact it's sunny and the surf's up. But maybe the fickle bitch will double back, so she can get the last laugh.

That's funny. That puts you a couple hours from me.
No, don't bother. Have a good time and maybe think of me once or twice when it's quiet.
    No longer stuck.

I have been painting the inside of our home for weeks now and I am almost done. Just did the last rear hallway, then the little bathroom tomorrow and I is finished for another 10 years.
Had the hardwood floors refinished first. The pad looks fuckin tits these days.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

You should ride out to Little Truckee Summit (and maybe farther) with me tomorrow morning. Before I leave. [emoji4]

I'm in Lavallette, NJ - drove up here to help my MiL tuck in for TS Hermine possibly fucking her world up again (Sandy nearly erased her house from the map) but everything turned out pretty copacetic. Unfortunately State laws mean that if the beaches are designated "Closed" you cannot go in the water regardless of if the guards are out or not. Some beautiful waves coming in, but no go.

Made some Chile Verde last night since it was too windy to grill, and tonight we had some decent sushi. Heading home tomorrow around noon.

    Nice sunset tonight tho:

The more I learn about NJ beaches the more I'm convinced I don't need to visit them.

Spent yesterday visiting an old friend in the hospital who to say the least, has had a rough year. He's only 59. A stroke, breakup, and now cancer. Huge mass. All in 6 months.

Today was 5 hours of making pickles and watching and waiting for the temple burn, than a couple hours of making Swedish meatballs.

Still waiting for Hermine up here. Doesn't look like it'll be much of at this point, just windy and grey, but the weather clowns keep yammering on TV. Some decent surf out there yesterday afternoon. Beaches closed here too but that pretty much just means no lifeguards.

Missoula? I have family with me, but if we head up to glacier (which is looking less likely due to weather) I'll make sure to reach out
