70+ volunteers there yesterday per the Fazebook.
I was part of a small strike team of mags who ran the hot saws.

Thank you so much for coming! I love the small skills crews, so much gets done so quickly. KRP must be at least half ox, that dude is a human logging skidder.
I can't believe how many people showed up this week. Insane amount of work getting done around the place, inside and out. Roof work, floor work, tree work, trail work, painting, plumbing and even kitchen work. The sheer amount of shit getting checked off the list is impressive. The level of stoke and optimism is palpable these days for sure, people are SO ready for this to happen.
I don't know about anybody else, but I'm ready to sample some of this right here. About 1kft total length, 40+ pitch in places and tight trees everywhere but the cliff landing:
Definitely a peepgasm kind of weekend.
I'm already buzzing for Ullrfest!
As usual, I failed to document some of the other work that was done but suffice it to say the on-the map tree runs are buffed and ready to go with minimal snow. Last night Peruvian and family joined Mrs MNIAW and me (and another couple) at an incredible Dark Star Orchestra concert at Stratton. Unbelievable show with local flavor and an incredible deal.

With the way it's looking Rob and Tom may decide to keep it.

I've always wondered what it looked like under the carpet. Nice work all. Stoked to see it coming together.
Getting this back on page 1.
Volunteer Day #3 is Saturday. Meet on the deck between 8:30 & 9:00. Lots of on-hill projects as well as indoor work to do if you don't want to trek up the hill.
Hopeful for some news this week/weekend.
What kind of indoor work is on the agenda? Not sure if I will be going up Friday night or Saturday morning. If it's the latter case, it would probably be easier to find people in the lodge than on the mountain.
Painting, general upkeep, cleaning, building the Director of Mountain Ops a throne.
It won't be hard to find people on the hill. Gnarnia East and West will get some love as will the far skier's right of the Hallows (go up Magician and follow the old logging trail on the looker's right into the woods). If we get a really big crew, I'd like to see some folks hit Up Your Shirt and the new glade between Medium and Magic Carpet just to make sure any blowdowns get cleared out. Both shots got lots of attention last fall.
Yeah after some exploration this week we definitely need to get a good crew over on TZone with pole saws. One of the big'uns in the middle is down too. The encroachment, deadfall and long branches on the side are way out of control.
Works for me. I'd like to be on that side of the mountain anyway. Anyone else besides these ^2 be up Friday? Just curious. East or bust if a roof over your head makes any difference for Friday come on up.
Looks like ill be able to get up tomorrow but likely wont stick around for the fest. Should be a good day.
or not...way to much going on. Ill be lucky to get up at all this year.

For those that haven't signed up to be on Magic's mailing list, here is the update from last Friday...
Greetings from Londonderry Vermont.
Our 3rd Volunteer Day is scheduled for tomorrow and afterwards there will be Magic’s yearly Ullrfest gathering as sacrifices will be made for a snow-filled winter!
I wanted to communicate with our friends and customers on the status of the ski area purchase by our SKI MAGIC LLC investor group.
As alluded to in the last update two weeks ago, there have been some Due Diligence issues that we have been working through which has delayed the closing on the purchase of Magic by our investor group. A lot has been accomplished since then to resolve the issues before us.
The situation involved some permitting concerns but we have worked closely with the State of Vermont and we have a viable path forward. The important news is that Magic will be open this year and our transaction will be going through with the current ownership. We appreciate the cooperation of the state agencies, local and state elected officials, and current owners in working through these critical issues impacting the future of Magic.
Obviously time is ticking on the new season (snow is even in the forecast!), and we have much work to do for opening by December 17th. We will do the best we can in the limited time we have. There’s lift repair and maintenance as well as snowmaking repair and improvements which have, and will, capture much of our time and capital near-term. While Magic will not be perfect. Magic will be better. And, we have some dedicated future SKI MAGIC employees who have contributed, literally, a lot of time and effort already.
Season passes will go on sale immediately when we close on the transaction which is most likely to occur the week of October 31st. There are some new products designed to make skiing more affordable and accessible, so be sure to check them out. A new work-in-progress website will accompany our launch of these products as well.
In closing, thanks for your patience, and thank you for being a part of Magic’s incredible community and an important part of our future. Back to you soon when the purchase goes through!

Just to make sure I didn't miss something: Passes still aren't on sale are they? November 1 was the theoretical day for a price jump.
I believe Geoff said they will extend that since closing is now supposed to be right around that date and they can't sell anything before then.
I have heard the sale will be finalized (closed) this week and then passes will go on sale. Early bird pricing will be available for a fair amount of time.
I can't imagine there will even be an early pass sale price. What would be the point? Set the price and sell them. The season is almost upon us. In the spring sell them early and infuse cash for the off season.
You're not the first to suggest this and my guess is, that is how it will go. Can't say for sure because I haven't talked to Jeff with a G about it.
