    Strange Days

There's a new PBS series called Strange Days that I've found myself compelled to watch.I find it kind of like seeing carnage,it fills me with loathing ,but it's hard to look away.

Ed Norton host this series that looks at the inter-connectedness of seemingly unrelated things. For instance;A group of Scientists trying to find out what is wrong with Yellowstone found that everyting from the dying of Aspen trees,to the erosion of river banks ,to the demise of Beaver populations are all directly related to the killing off of wolves in the area.To get a more in depth analysis, watch this thought provoking & for me ,anger inducing series.

check out a new book called "freakonomics" - some of the same concepts - applies cost/benefit economic reasoning to human behaviors - weird shit like connecting the legalization of abortion in the '70s with the minimal crime of the '90's...written by a uber economist too, so it is well substantiated. in the same vien as "tipping point" and "guns germs and steel"...
