I'm in the market to replace my Nikon P300 and wondering what the latest and greatest recommended camera is here. Basically, I want a high quality pocketable camera for biking and skiing. Wifi preferrable, RAW nice but not absolutely required. I guess my max price would be $300-400 but won't rule out something more if it meets my specs. I could even go down in the camera lines to a smaller lesser camera if the specs are still decent. I saw the thread on the Sony RX100 but the pricepoint seems a bit out of my range.
I prefer Nikons and Canons but it seems like both have not released anything new in their lines for some time. The Canon S120 was released in Aug 2013(!) and the Nikom P340 in Feb 2014 (still quite old). What the hell? I hate to buy either at these at full price simply based on their age. I'm sure as soon as I pull the trigger a new model will be announced.
And any leads on a good deals for what I'm looking for? I would be perfectly happy with an S120 or P340 at a discount price. I can't justify paying full for 2 and 3 year old technology.
For that price range a used RX or maybe a used Fuji X series are probably as good as you can do. The new Nikon DL's look pretty sweet but are a bit more money and have seen some delays.
both are a little too big and too expensive for what i'm looking for. i'm really surprised that there is nothing new to fill the s120 size/quality niche.
