I've narrowed it down to two bikes... help me pick one please

2005 Yeti ASX - Boxxer Team, XT shifting, Truvativ cranks, Hope M4 brakes, Bombshell FatBoy wheels, DHX 5.0 shock

    or

2004 Norco Team North Shore - Marz 888R, all Saint components, Fox Vanilla RC

Both bikes are barely used and will cost the same price. Most of my riding will be done on DH trails, stunts, and tabletops. Climbing ability is not too important.

The Devinci Ollie and Specialized Demos didn't make the cut cause I can't afford them.

how big do you plan on going? I imagine most of your needs could be fufilled by the AS-X more ridability, but if you are looking for the no limit bike, I would say its the North Shore. both are sweet rigs, its a tough choice.

purely my opinion only, not factually based, but hey, what do you expect from the internet?

The good news is you're going to dig either one.

Have you test ridden either one to get a feel for which one feels better?

It's too bad you narrowed it down to those two and not an Iron Horse Sunday. Just rode one today. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Oooooooooooooh. I'm a gushy mess.

I say go for the Shore. Sicker components. Stay away from Rock Shox.

I know I should, but it isn't always easy to do. I may be able to ride a Norco for a bit this weekend.

Particle, I feel the same way about Rock Shox. The only drawback of Saint is the fact that you have to replace any component that breaks with a Saint component. This can get expensive quickly, but I am hoping that they are as durable as everyone says.

The AS-X has the same parts as mine except for the Boxxer (not a big Rock Shock fan; I have heard that lighter riders don't have the same problems as us plus-size guys). Both sound sweet and will deliver the same smiles. You know where I stand on this issue but the North Shore would be sweet too. Try to bargin with both and see who gives you the best deal.

what's up mang? You can't go wrong with either of those bikes. the asx is more cross country 'ish compared to the norco, but it is still more than capable. the norco is definately born and bred on the shore, so it will be a bit better in vancouver. try to pedal them both and see which one feels the best.

oh yeah, no whistler for me for ANOTHER weekend i mananged to bang up my foot last weekend on galby, the purple and probably broken toes want a bit more time to rest, plus i need a replacement shock bolt for the new steed before riding it properly.
