    I feel yer pain.

I gots labrum repair surgery next Friday. 4 weeks immobilized. PT after week 6. No biking fer me this summer, and a trip to the carribean 13 days post-op. Can one snorkel with one's arm tightly strapped to one's side?

    Heal fast.

I'm now 15 days post-op of a fully torn rotator cuff tendon (supraspinatus) and partially torn rotator cuff. I'm in a sling with no active movement for the first 4-6 weeks. I started physical therapy 8 days after surgery (only passive movement) and I'm going 3 days a week along with home exercises 2 times per day.

Some suggestions to ease the difficulty of only being able to use one hand... I rented a recliner to sleep in because it was too painful to lay down. To make showering easier, I got a shower head on a hose so it's easier to rinse under the arm as well as one of those scrub brushes with a long handle to reach the places my one good arm can't. I also now have two slings and wear... I wear the one they gave me immediately after the operation in the shower to keep the arm stable.

Edit: First sentence should've read, "I'm now 15 days post-op of a fully torn rotator cuff tendon (supraspinatus) and partially torn labrum."

Wow, hello cronies. on May 3rd I had a capsular shift and I had a torn peice of cartillege surrounding the socket anchored into the bone, I can't remember what that was called due to the anesthesia. They scoped in back and sliced open the front. The slice now has a hematoma as you can see here-

Mine was a military job and they told me to take it out of the sling 3 times a day for slight motion. I think I over did it because yesterday I ran out of pain pills and the pain was excruciating all night long. Funny how laying down is so much worse than standing up. Anyways, I was doing great until yesterday the 18th and now I have a hematoma I have to carefully watch and I am getting constant fevers for some reason and I have no energy. Has this happened to anyone else?

I like the suggestions Spanky, if only I didn't live in military dorms I could fit a recliner in my room!

Do you guys like my nipple? I think it is the perfect size! Ha! Good luck recovering to all of us!

Swelling, blood collection, increased pain and a fever... Get yourself checked for an infection. Seriously, get on anti-biotics.

I saw a half assed Air Force doctor today, more like an assistant or something, and some enlisted dude that takes stitches out and schedules people. They both said it is definetely not infected, but neither have the credentials to make a good call in my opinion. With a bunch of aspirin I have been able to get the fever down, but yes I think I will just go to a real doctor if the fever comes back.

Now what is the trick to not eat so much snack food while being relatively lathargic for so many weeks? I don't want my nipples to start sagging!

    lets see.
    arrived in Vehgas started drinking,
boys from CA slowly roled in,
    drank more,
lost $35 ish getting hammered playing black jack
went to OG and spent the rest of my money.
one of our crew went home with a stripper and had to catch a cab to the dock in the am from her trailer.
6 am shuttle to the dock, load house boat,
cruise out, high winds, porn on the tv, ie up at cool cove, drink more,
    drink more,
watch some skilled bros do wake boardy stuff.
pass out on the top deck in my bag, headlamp still on head ( boys from CA found this infinately amusing.
    woke up
drink on the top deck and chill with friends all day, fish a little ( huge golden carp landed)
pass out down stairs for a change
wake up early, take speed boat to LAs Vegas Marina for a real breakfast, go back, go home.
15 guys in 2 days on the house boat 525 beers, 6 liters brown liquor ( bourbon and scotch,) assorted vodka and tequila, loads of good times.
    happy bitch?!?>
