i am with CS on this one. Get a bike it is like skiing in the summer.

I love summer. at this point, although skiing is still my favorite sport, summer is my favorite season. Squeezing in some golf, mountain biking and some wakeboarding all in the same day is pretty tough to beat.

i am so happy it has been warm and pouring in tahoe, i just want a few of the lower elevation rides to open so i have somewhere close to do some riding.

go away bikers, climbers, trail runners, hikers, etc.

    bring back winta!!!!
Yesterday I toured for over 5 hours, got two sweet peaks, yellow boy (12500) and leahy (12800). Today i rode by the former peak about 7 miles off the road) and it had slid big time (timing is everything). It is around 75 here, and looks like things need to cool before we go up high again.
Put in 65 miles on my rd bike, but still counting the days till heading to Las Lenas.

I could live with winter 24/7/365

    Cool

We've got every freaking fan on in the house. I'm going to have to turn on the a/c and start watering the grass with this heat. This is our first day of the year in the 80's. I'm glad it took this long to get that hot. I guess the party's over.
If it weren't for skiing weekends right now I'd go absolutely berzerk. I think I'll ski all year.

    Again.

I am with everyone else who said get a bike. I used to hate summer, but this year I think I am actually looking forward to bike season more than I was to ski season... of course skiing is still numero uno on my list of hobbies.

I guess that all depends on your definition of Summer. Summer in Utah, yah I hated them. My "Summer" begins in about 3 weeks. I think it's snowing right now in my land of Summer

I'm with LB. Good list mang! There are more than enough lines in CO to ski all summer long and not get bored. You can't beat skiing early in the AM, boatin' in the afternoon, bike ride late afternoon, and beers on a deck to watch a golden CO sunset in the evening. Does not get much better than that.

I'm all for summer at this point... probably sometime in July I'll be ready for snow again, but for now I want the trails to clear off and dry out.

Xover, I too, like you...used to hate the summer. I'd see bikers out before the last shred of snow melted and get my panties in a wad. But now that I've had my 6 years of 80+ day seasons, and this season with a measly 30-ish (but at least they were almost all POW)...I gotta say I'm stoked for summer.

And I can't believe all the pussies in here when it comes to heat. I mean...get a grip on reality. 80's?! Oh NO!!! I grew up in Texas. Drink some beer, turn the swamp cooler on, and fucking enjoy the roast.

As someone living far away from huge ass mtns but very close to kick ass bike trails, summer rules. In the winter options are pretty limited, its either, ski, or drink beer. Now I can ride, road or trails, hike, golf, canooze(canoe +booze) or a million other things plus leave for work 5 minutes before I have to be there, and its light out more that 4 hours a day.

Exactly. I have a project for you, it's called Right Trinity in LCC. I need to get that clean this summer.

I hate the heat, but a good day of riding IS just as good as skiing. You need to try it.

Get out and start getting some turns on the water.
Been out a few times already this spring not to mention the last 2 nights skiing.
We all love all of the ladies in their bikinis
Get out and enjoy the summer. I water skied into November last year and started in April this spring. Made turns on snow and water the same week.
Oh yes can't forgot the bike!

I second the kayaking, it's the perfect compliment to skiing.

I can relate Xover.I bought a Trek 420 bike from a friends dad 3 years ago to try & learn to like the summer.I really like riding & it has helped my skiing a lot.

That being said,a good day riding will NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS compare to a good powder day.

This summer has a new twist,a friend bought a personal watercraft that carries 3.

This is like saying I went out on a powder day with some XC skis and I don't get what's so fun about it. You need the bike equivalent of some fat skis if you want to see what it's all about.

    wrong

And AG put it perfectly. In fact, if anyone ever wants to see how much fun riding a bike really can be, I suggest spending a day railing the trails with the AG's. You'll have a whole new joy for summer and mountains without snow.

I see your point, but don't feel it is as pertinent as I feel there is an order of magnitude difference between my XC skis & fat skis in relation to powder.

My MTB ,a Trek fuel 80, is an average bike, but I think it's adequate.I've been on some much more expensive bikes & they are definately a lot better, but not the difference between XC & fat skis in powder. The vibration free, utterly velvet smooth feel of magic carpet Powder can't be compared to mtbing IMHO.

I won't even get into the difference in wiping out on snow vs rocks, trees & dirt.

It's not about price, it's about suspension travel.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
