I hate the heat, more than lots of things.

But seriously...if you had a bike, you wouldn't be complaining.

X, I am right there with ya. I went out for lunch and we now have the freaking air conditioning on in here. It is about 79 in Logan right now, that is hot enough.

I still want to get out each weekend like I have been to skin at Basin or Powmow. Not looking good with the damn 5-10 forecast.

Should rode the motorcycle to work today.

(oh, and I have a bike, but it is a POS and I am still complaining )

Time to work on it more I guess. Hell, 2 inches of front travel and hardtail circa 92 in bright green is not what I would like to be on right now. I need access to GT40's garage.

    WTF you guys?

Summer isn't here, I'm grinding out the final days of spring turkey season. It can be summer once that's done on Sunday. It was CHILLY this AM at 7500' SW of D-town today. Puuurrrrfffecto!

While I do hate the summer heat, it is a great excuse for:

    drinking beers
    puttering in the garden
    cleaning/sorting/storing gear
    drinking vodka tonics
    firing up the smoker
sitting in the hammock (drinking beers)
smoking the pipe on the porch in the evenings
    drinking beers
    mowin the lawn
    picking veggies
    drinking beers
    grilling
    playing golf, drinking beers
    playing disc golf, drinking beers
nailing some spring/summer steeps, drinking beers
    drinking beers

    I love the idle time.

I'm not a big summer fan either (hate the heat)... but you gotta love the short skirts and tank tops that the summer heat brings. So, ladies it's time to put away the parkas and long pants.

xman, we can find you happiness in 3 simple steps.

    1) buy a bike
    2) make up some of those ritas you brought to the closing day shindig
    3) meet me and craig this weekend for riding and drinking in the warm sun.

    so simple!

also, jonny gunn is a genius - the man makes a very salient point.

Can't argue with Johnny Gunn's logic.

I dig the heat but hate humidity. Utah's humidity is faaaar lower than Michigan's in the summer. At least you have that.

Yeah, shorts, t-shirt and sandals suck, as do hot, scantily clad girls.

Also, go out and buy a rack and quit being such a pussy and lead some fine LCC granite.

And as other have said, get a bike, it's just as good as skiing.

get a kayak. that way you can ski it in the winter, kayak it in the summer.
biking aint really even close to being as good as skiing. but kayaking...

Summer in the city isn't very exciting, especially when you can't legally drink. Fucking america.

This summer, however, I'm pioneering a way to ski in the summer. That's all I can divulge at this point, but I'll throw up a vid sometime prolly in august.

Nah, petty much felt the same way when I was living in Utah and skiing way more. Now, biking is even more fun since my bikes are way, way better than the things I was riding back then.

But whatever, the thing is to not get all hung up on one seasonal sport, otherwise, yeah, the other half of the year you're all bent and annoyed.

Edit: By the way, It's looking like I'm going to be in your area in a few weeks, so you'd better be ready to show me the trails you have up there.

Good thing in two weeks I'll be starting my ski season again. Until then I'm laid back on the beach drinking cold ones. Anybody wanna summit in NZ?

Does all this talk mean I should take off the snow tires? What if it snows next week?!

When should I start to mow the lawn??

It's 82 here in southern CO, I don't know where this came from. Even though I was skiing some pretty nice snow a few days ago and would like to this weekend, it's pretty freaking nice out right now.

I put in 40 miles on the road bike and am now sitting on the porch drinking an Abbey.
