I got a 43 but that's a little misleading. My job makes me totally aware of what's going on in lower social strata... and shit, I have friends that would post pretty high scores.

I got 75. Does this mean I'm in tune with the people? I blame my wife's redneck family having gatherings at Applebees and the fact that Denny's is the only place in (my rural) town open after 10pm to grab some food. And the fact that I've lived in very rural places my entire life.

    40. After spending most of my life in a metro area with millions of people and now living in a working class resort town of 2k, I feel pretty insulated from most things.

I don't see poverty, crime, cultural clashes, gentrification, or unemployment like I used to unless I'm traveling. Isis probably doesn't have my town on its radar to attack. Ted Cruz probably won't send his muslim police patrols here. White cops aren't shooting black kids here. No lead contaminated pipes to worry about coming from my HOA's well.

Sometimes I feel guilty I don't have to deal with the shit that many urban Americans do here in my bubble.

40 for me. Is that good or bad? Who knows. I grew up in a very rural, white bread area, but now live in a large urban area. In many ways, polar opposite. I'd move back to a rural area if I could, but the job won't allow it.

50 for me, and my thoughts exactly.

I've hitchiked a ton, don't go to any of those chain eateries, don't have cable or watch any of those TV shows, I rarely go to the movies but did see most of those on the list, is Sierra Nevada a mass-production brewery? Guess it depends who it's compared to.

Doesn't everyone live in a bubble? Just different versions?
^^^^This. Some bubbles are just bigger than others. The test wasn't fair though--none of those restaurants are in Truckee (but Donner Lake Kitchen should count). And you can't watch a lot of those shows when it's snowing and the dish doesn't work (I'm changing that next week.) I want a makeup test, or maybe there's something I can do for extra credit.

Seems like this is more an indicator of sophistication

42 bishes, fist bumps. Now my life is meaningful. Maybe next we can see who's who from Saved by the Bell. @glade show a little respect for the lady, no need for that.

0–43: A second-generation (or more) upper-middle-class person who has made a point of getting out a lot. Typical: 9. My father was a stubborn bastard that almost succeeded in squandering the head start he got.

Billie - Doesn't that mean you can't listen to old school hip hop or something? Where's the street cred in a 2?

Go to the pastime and have a few PBRs and some jerkey. Follow with a couple of shots of the horrid well whisky at the Tourist Club. That should do it.

There's no Denny's in Dryden and I'll let you know where to get food after 10.
